Not sure how much I buy this:

You are 73% Gemini

I think it was the dating questions that threw off the numbers. Just 'cause I don't date much does not make me a sorry excuse for a Gemini. *grumble*

Anyway, busy but productive weekend that involved long awaited gaming Friday night wherein my character came out of a major battle with little more than a scratch (and he got to chop one of his most hated enemies in twain and defile their dead bodies afterward!). And we survived the hell cows. There was more than one, contrary to popular belief. Lots of battle and lots more running away and a good time was had by all.

Saturday, shopping extravaganza! Spent a good deal at Lush, but pretty much all on gifts. The only thing I got myself was his bottle of the most heavenly scented shower gel on the planet. It's called "Flying Fox" and is jasmine and like 3 kinds of honey plus a few other fragrances mixed in. It is sin in a bottle and I just want to cover myself in the stuff. Please let them put out an entire line of this stuff, please!

Bid [livejournal.com profile] jakejr farewell and Aelf and I walked over to Chinatown to get to the serious shopping. And oh boy did we ever. On the plus side we both crossed a lot of names off our lists, on the other hand we lugged a shitload of crap all around SF for the better part of a day. Also I managed to lose one of my credit cards. Didn't find that out until Sunday, but thankfully it hadn't been used so I just cancelled it and a new one should be on its way immediately. Thank the gods MBNA is better at handling this shit than Citibank.

Managed to make it through Ju-On (The Grudge) Saturday night, and I think on the whole it was a more effectively scary film than either version of The Ring, though it managed to make even less sense. Aelf and I were both exhausted and I was borderline migraine-y so more often than not we'd ask each other who the hell each character was and when the events were taking place. As the entire story is told out of sequence it was perhaps not the best choice to watch if you're bleary-eyed and brain dead. still, mucho creepy.

Sunday we saw The Incredibles which I thought was a fun little film, I didn't love it, but I did like it a lot. I would recommend it, especially if you're feeling kind of blah, it'll definitely pick up your mood. It even lifted mine and made me forget the whole credit card thing (which I discovered as we were getting tickets) for a while. Nice.

Ran some errands after giving my wonderful cat sitter [livejournal.com profile] tersa the rundown on what the kitties will need for this weekend. Also finally purchased one of those fountain water bowls for the cats. So they now arguably cleaner, fresher water than my own 24/7. Hey, it was only $20 and it's dead silent, uses very little energy and is very easy to refill (which only needs to be done every week or two), what's not to like?

Picked up a few munchies for the roadtrip this weekend as well and gave a silent prayer of thanks that the credit card I reserved our hotel on wasn't the same one that went missing as I may not have a replacement by the time we leave. All in all, I can't complain too much except my shoulders are still sore from Saturday and I spent way too much on DVDs 'cause I'm like that.

I just keep repeating, "Oh wow...oh wow..."
Aussie research 'donated to world':

AN Australian company will release the embryonic stem cell line it has developed to researchers around the world for free "for the good of mankind".

The line is based on a cell that can grow endless exact copies of itself in a laboratory, and which can be used to make any kind of cell in the human body.

Stem Cell Sciences Ltd (SCS) announced in Melbourne today that it would make its new stem cell line, named Mel 1 after its city of origin, freely available to academics and companies carrying out research around the globe...

On behalf of this member of mankind, thank you.
