Aussie research 'donated to world':
AN Australian company will release the embryonic stem cell line it has developed to researchers around the world for free "for the good of mankind".
The line is based on a cell that can grow endless exact copies of itself in a laboratory, and which can be used to make any kind of cell in the human body.
Stem Cell Sciences Ltd (SCS) announced in Melbourne today that it would make its new stem cell line, named Mel 1 after its city of origin, freely available to academics and companies carrying out research around the globe...
