The Last Airbender Will Be M. Night Shyamalan's Star Wars

M. Night Shyamalan has finished his script for The Last Airbender, the live action movie based on Nickelodeon's epic cartoon, Avatar — and he's told Paramount and Nickelodeon that he thought they had a new Star Wars on their hands. Shyamalan screened a rough teaser trailer at the New York Licensing Expo Night, and we were there. Details after the jump.

Oh well, I didn't have incredibly high hopes for this project anyway. Now I get the feeling we're talking about epic levels of fail.

I have no friggin' clue, then again I don't know why in the hell they keep giving this man film projects in general.

I've been thinking the same thing. And if THE HAPPENING is really as bad as I've heard (which is pretty freaking BAD) I'm sure the folks who handed him Avatar will be donning flak jackets and preparing to write the whole feature-film franchise off....

It's actually worse, I read the spoilers and early reviews and I couldn't believe this project got made...neither could the reviewers.

I suspect we've been reading the same sources. It sounds like this turkey has taken Deep Hurting to unheard of levels of pain.
