Feb. 29th, 2008 09:16 amToday's my last day at the office and I must admit I'm feeling a bit numb. Monday's going to be profoundly weird, as is all of next week really. I'm thinking I'll create a schedule for myself of things to do so I don't end up sitting on the couch staring at the tv all day. I still want to go hiking, I've got some serious chores piling up that need seeing to, and of course job hunting to do.
On the bright side I just got contacted out of the blue by someone regarding a contract gig that might be worth pursuing. In the short-term it's a better option than nothing and would give me a little breathing space when it comes to the bills. We'll see if it pans out. But hey, at least it's something.
A big thank you to
cyranocyrano and
tersa for coming over to keep me company last night. It was nice not being on my own after a somewhat emotional day and it gave me the excuse I've been craving for watching "Eastern Promises". I liked it a lot, even if a good deal of it was a little more obvious than I'd have preferred. Frankly it would've been worthwhile to me just for the naked fight scene in the steam room. More of that please!

Date: 2008-02-29 11:09 pm (UTC)I'll second that. When I was fired a few years ago, I felt a bit lost because I had nowhere to go ... nobody needed me. It's important to have a reason to get out of bed each day beyond the instinctive "must find work" drive ... preferably something that involves friends.
