Lovely weekend thanks in great part to aelfsciene, jakejr, and elo_sf who were all kind enough to spend parts of it with me. Am now about 1/3 of the way through season 4 of The Wire which just keeps getting better. And I saw episode 5 of Life On Mars which was really damned good. Only one episode in the season so far that I haven't liked, and the rest have been steadily moving towards perfection. Can't argue with that!



I have it on good authority that next season we will finally get some Master action! Woo! The only baddie whose presence was sadly lacking since the show was resurrected (or regenerated if you prefer). I also have it from aelfsciene that tamago says John Simm may have been tapped for the role. If so I'm both delighted (I'm going all "Foamy" at the mere thought of it) and concerned, I mean what does this say about the future of Life on Mars? If they are pulling the plug after this season I'm going to wear black for a week I think. Though part of me may be a little relieved that they ended it before the show started to decline into shark jumping territory.


And despite vowing no more toy purchases I'm not sure I can resist the new Snape figure with potions accessories. I suppose it could live at work where there's at least a little space left for toys. Right? Right.

OMG, that Snape figurine is AWESOME! I may have to bend my "no more HP toys" rule for that....

I think it was a combination of being able to put his arms behind his back (which just looks damn cool) and the potions accessories that sold me.

That, and the sculpt of Rickman is just fantastic. Wow.
