I don't watch Lost, but that combination of coordinates is a little naive (did I mention I haven't seen the show?).
Coordinates have positive and negative values and a number of different ways of displaying them (lat/lon, decimal degrees, etc.).
It would seem more plausible to me that the coordinates would be one of the four combinations (lat/lon format): +/- 4.8.15 lat +/- 16.23.42 lon
This completely ignores datum and ephemeris, but those generally don't have major impacts on the positioning and I wouldn't expect a TV producer to have the faintest idea of what they are/mean, anyway.
