You've got me! Who's got you?
Aug. 6th, 2002 09:02 amSo I just spent about 20 minutes of my life on hold with Bank of America just trying to talk to someone about my car lease. Could they just put this info up on the web somewhere so I could go, check it out at my leisure and not pester their customer service people? Oh no. After 20 minutes of canned messages and muzak I hung up, there's only just so much I can take. I may try again tomorrow if I'm feeling particularly masochistic.
Got an amazing number of chores done this morning which made me feel just slightly less anxious about all the work I need to get done tomorrow. Must go to the store, must clean the bathroom, must mow the lawn, must, must, must. At least the dishes are washed, that's something I suppose.
Now I must try to locate some good directions down to the Monterey Bay Aquarium, which is where I'd like to take my sis and neice on Sunday. If anybody has a preferred route from the bay area please let me know. Otherwise I'll be at the mercy of Yahoo maps.
And Frodo is calling to me. He's saying, "My DVD is out, you know, the one with extra footage. But, hey, no rush, I realize you're busy, I mean I'm just carrying the Doom of the World around my neck. You know, heading off to certain death and destruction, and suffering so beautifully all for you, but like I said, take your time. I mean I'm sure there'll be plenty of copies left by the time you get out of work. Really." Gah! Have I mentioned that Hobbits excel at guilt trips?
If I end up a zombie tomorrow because I just had to stay up late watching the DVD I want someone to give me a good boot to the head.
But I'm going to see Signs tonight before I watch LOTR, and I fully expect to be curled up in my theater seat and clutching my sweatshirt fearfully. I also expect to make frightened yelps at all the right places and thoroughly enjoy it (a few bad reviews will not thwart me, dammit!). I've been hoping for a decent psychological horror flick for a long time, and while I doubt it'll live up to my expectations, I think I'm going to enjoy it regardless. It'll also make a nice counterpoint to the drool-fest that will be XXX on Friday.
Mmm...Vin...

Date: 2002-08-06 11:23 am (UTC)MBA: We take 101 down to the exit that says 'Monterey, next right' - I think it's 52 or 56 or something. I forget. It's close to this large barn in a parking lot that says 'Yard sales every weekend!' or something like that.
MBA2: I have guest cards for the aquarium, so that you and sis may get in for free, if you do not already have a method that does not involve waiting in the huge line. The guest cards will allow you to go in thru the sekrit member entrance (ok, it's not secret, but it DOES let you walk right in instead of waiting in line.) Not sure about the neice, you might be able to get a regular ticket for her and have her come in with you.

3) Wow that would be incredibly cool if we could use the cards, though if a certain Aelf of my acquaintance wants to use one that would be fine. She and my sis could go ahead in and I'll brave the line with my neice.

Date: 2002-08-06 12:44 pm (UTC)It is simple to get there. I will see if I am still carrying the cards in my wallet. Boy, I hope so. When you get there, you can always ask at the member desk if you can buy a pair of tickets too. It takes about an hour and 45 minutes, maybe a little less to get down there? I don't usually pay attention to how much time it takes. :)

Date: 2002-08-06 03:59 pm (UTC)well, y'know
Date: 2002-08-06 02:00 pm (UTC)Then I'll have more reason to get down to Monterey more often, and just hang out at the aquarium more, which would be wonderful. Of course, I'll need some weekends for this, but I'll work on that.
