First and foremost how did I possibly miss The DM of the Rings?! I've never actually gamed LotR but I have to guess that if I had it would go rather like this does. The entire scene that gets ruined because Legolas' player starts quoting Monty Python nearly killed me. Seriously, if you haven't read this go do so now.

In other news I found my iPod!!!! It turned up under my bed somehow, though I have serious suspicions that a certain ear-phone obsessed Siamese who happens to live with me might have had something to do with it. One of his favorite games in the world is to see mom with an ear-phone on either listening to said iPod or talking on her phone. He then runs up, pretends to want to cuddle and while mom is petting him, reaches up, grabs the ear-phone and makes a dash for it. Guaranteed to make mom squawk and chase him. He was probably a bit surprised when mom didn't do it this time and then he completely forgot the game and the iPod where he'd left it. He's also tried this trick with necklaces but that generally doesn't work quite so well.

Had a busy, exhausting, productive weekend. [livejournal.com profile] aelfsciene hosted for this week's episode of Avatar which was da bomb. Seriously, best episode of the season so far if you ask me. One of the most entertaining aspects of it was in sitting there and naming one Hong Kong film after another that we were seeing aspects of in the ep. It was also nice to see an episode devoted to Sokka and Iroh for a change. And I have to put this squee behind the cut for spoilers )

Had a great class Saturday morning with Alyne, so great in fact that she actually put me on point for a choreography I only just started learning a couple of weeks ago. I didn't think I still had "it", I thought all of my abilities would've shriveled up and died after two years of non-use but nope, the muscles still remember. It makes me both proud and happy, I like having a reason to feel proud of myself again.

Got home afterwards and cleaned then [livejournal.com profile] moonlightnrain came over and cooked me dinner while we watched more of season 2 Blake's 7. I got to show her "Countdown", one of my favorite eps of the season, which revealed a bit more of Avon's rather mysterious background. I've promised her that the payoff revelation about Anna Grant is even better and believe me I can't wait to watch that ep with her.

Sunday was errands, errands, and more errands but I did discover that the brand new Michael's in MV has a fantastic yarn selection at reasonable prices. There may be afghans in many peoples' immediate holiday futures, just a head's up on that.

Can anybody explain to me why Ron Paul is considered a serious Republican presidential candidate rather than that weird guy on the bus you try to avoid making eye contact with? 'Cause his latest campaign letter is really making me think that he and the Midnight Bomber What Bombs at Midnight might have way more in common than I'd previously thought. A slight spoiler below:

I don’t need to tell you that our American way of life is under attack. We see it all around us — every day — and it is up to us to save it.

The world’s elites are busy forming a North American Union. If they are successful, as they were in forming the European Union, the good ‘ol USA will only be a memory. We can’t let that happen.

The UN also wants to confiscate our firearms and impose a global tax. The UN elites want to control the world’s oceans with the Law of the Sea Treaty.
[Ed. note: Aquaman is going to be so pissed!] And they want to use our military to police the world.

I would pay good money to hear this letter read aloud by someone capable of either doing a passable Dr. Strangelove impersonation, or a good Monarch one. And then [livejournal.com profile] elenderel's hubby goes and reads it for me as Dr. Strangelove! I have the coolest friends ever!

Apparently his message of bat-shit nuttery has won over the coveted neo-Nazi endorsement, so I guess that's something. The saddest thing is that while I was out running errands on Sunday I noticed that someone had stuck a Ron Paul for president sign up on the divider of San Antonio. Yes, somewhere not too far from where I live is a person who thinks Ron Paul should be running this country. I may not sleep for a week...
