"Hawt with a capital 'haw'."
Oct. 15th, 2007 09:36 amFirst and foremost how did I possibly miss The DM of the Rings?! I've never actually gamed LotR but I have to guess that if I had it would go rather like this does. The entire scene that gets ruined because Legolas' player starts quoting Monty Python nearly killed me. Seriously, if you haven't read this go do so now.
In other news I found my iPod!!!! It turned up under my bed somehow, though I have serious suspicions that a certain ear-phone obsessed Siamese who happens to live with me might have had something to do with it. One of his favorite games in the world is to see mom with an ear-phone on either listening to said iPod or talking on her phone. He then runs up, pretends to want to cuddle and while mom is petting him, reaches up, grabs the ear-phone and makes a dash for it. Guaranteed to make mom squawk and chase him. He was probably a bit surprised when mom didn't do it this time and then he completely forgot the game and the iPod where he'd left it. He's also tried this trick with necklaces but that generally doesn't work quite so well.
Had a busy, exhausting, productive weekend.
aelfsciene hosted for this week's episode of Avatar which was da bomb. Seriously, best episode of the season so far if you ask me. One of the most entertaining aspects of it was in sitting there and naming one Hong Kong film after another that we were seeing aspects of in the ep. It was also nice to see an episode devoted to Sokka and Iroh for a change. And I have to put this ... OMG the White Lotus! I nearly did a happy dance when they were mentioned in the "last time on Avatar" bit at the beginning. Sweet Jesus I love this organization and remain convinced that Zuko's mom is either in it or leading it. Also Sokka's master was so totally Li Mu Bai it ain't even funny. I loved his whole, "Hey this war thing is between benders, us non-bending types shouldn't really be involved" attitude. Also yay for some actual Toph inclusion, though I continue to contend that she's getting serious short-shrift this season. And one more squee for diet and workout Iroh...me-ow! The Dragon of the West is back, baby!
Had a great class Saturday morning with Alyne, so great in fact that she actually put me on point for a choreography I only just started learning a couple of weeks ago. I didn't think I still had "it", I thought all of my abilities would've shriveled up and died after two years of non-use but nope, the muscles still remember. It makes me both proud and happy, I like having a reason to feel proud of myself again.
Got home afterwards and cleaned then
moonlightnrain came over and cooked me dinner while we watched more of season 2 Blake's 7. I got to show her "Countdown", one of my favorite eps of the season, which revealed a bit more of Avon's rather mysterious background. I've promised her that the payoff revelation about Anna Grant is even better and believe me I can't wait to watch that ep with her.
Sunday was errands, errands, and more errands but I did discover that the brand new Michael's in MV has a fantastic yarn selection at reasonable prices. There may be afghans in many peoples' immediate holiday futures, just a head's up on that.

Date: 2007-10-15 05:33 pm (UTC)Nope, not until you said something. My recording got to the point where he identified Aang as the Avatar and said Sokka should try using a non-Water Tribe name like Li before cutting off. I was hoping Nick would have the episode online so I could catch the ending, but no luck.

Date: 2007-10-15 06:31 pm (UTC)It's on Charleston, you know where they just put in the new mini-mall with Best Buy and BB&B? It's directly across the street from there. Basically Charleston and Independence. And it's surprisingly large. It didn't look that big from the outside. Well stocked too.
