Skipped lunch yesterday to leve early and run a bunch of errands. Struck out on two of the big things I'd wanted to pick up, but consoled myself with a Jamba Juice. I fear that living near a Jamba has re-awakened the addiction that's lain dormant for two years now. I suppose there are worse ones, though.
Anyway, got home to find Kage camped under the bed and Pye hiding in my closet. Neither had eaten which worried me, but after an hour or so of me puttering around emptying and re-arranging boxes, they both emerged none the worse for wear. Indeed Kage looks a bit better, more lively and alert than at the house.
Managed to clear the path to Pye's cat condo, which made him very, very happy. Then I treated myself to a Taco Bell bean burrito and put on Harry Potter: And the Sorcerer's Stone. Haven't watched it since I lived with
windrose and I wanted to see if my opinion of it had changed. It seems that time has made me much more forgiving of the film, and I found myself thoroughly enjoying it. I did note that the new Dumbledore really is better for the role (much as I loved Richard Harris, he just seemed so exhausted), and that I still want to have Snape's love kittens (Mr. Rickman, you rock). The kids looked so young it was freaky, and I was reminded yet again why Ron is my favorite, he's such a delightful little smartass.
Made it through the Wizard Chess sequence (possibly my favorite scene in the entire series to date, but that may be trumped by the end of GoF if it's done well) before passing out on the futon (literally). I woke up around midnight with Kage scaling Box Hill for some unknown reason, and Pye curled up next to me purring his little fool head off. Apparently all I need to do in order to establish peace in the new apartment is to sleep in the living room. Hey, if it'll keep Pye from yowling all night it seems a small enough price to pay.
Oh, while on the subject of HP, I was vastly amused by this icon:

Methinks I need one of PoA Ron and Lupin with a similar text :)
Tonight I get cable (hooray!) and high speed internet (double hooray!) so I'll be skipping class tonight and going to Thursday instead. With any luck I'll also get my vacuum cleaner put together and some more boxes emptied. Oh, before I forget, I need to find some of those little tab thingies you stick into bookcases to adjust the shelves. One of mine got lost during the move, and I figured if I had some extras I might be able to procure some additional shelves and make more efficient use of the case. If anybody knows if one can find such things at like an OSH or something let me know.
Oh, and anybody out there who owns two cats, I would like to highly recommend picking up a little device called a Litter Locker. This thing seriously rocks. I wish I'd gotten one sooner as it completely removes any scent once you toss the clumped litter and waste into it and give the handle a twist. It only needs to be emptied out maybe once a week, it's neat and clean and so easy to use. And for $20 you just can't beat it.
