He couldn't fix a straw if it was bent
Mar. 8th, 2004 08:36 amFor my sis, God Hates the Scene, trust me, you'll be amused.
And for
mister_sunshine, if you haven't seen it already, The Exorcist in 30 Seconds (and performed by bunnies), because I had to.
Ok, weekend report time. Friday night turned into a great deal of DS9 rather than gaming, and oh the crafting I accomplished. Didn't stay up too late as we were getting up early on Saturday, but we still got through a lot. Saturday it was up at the crack of dawn and off to help
esmerel and
merlinofchaos get their move on. Ye gods the amount of stuff we packed in that 25' truck. It boggles the mind. As
tersa put it, it was kind of like a huge game of Tetris in many ways.
The first part of the move took several hours, then we trekked down to the new house and unloading there was accomplished in maybe an hour. Woo! Really like the house (except for the whole pink motif), and the yard was to die for. I'm very jealous of the ornamental and fruit trees they've got back there. And oh my god that one room is so huge, all I could think when I saw it was "Dance studio!".
Afterwards there was pizza at Vito's and then Aelf and I schlepped home to de-grime and then finish up season 3 of DS9. We plunged into season 4 and made it through the emotional trauma that is "The Visitor". I'd warned Aelf that it was the best episode of the series, but hadn't given her any other hints. The fact that we both ended up crying our eyes out and going through multiple kleenix, told me I'd made the right choice. Even knowing what was coming, though, I was an utter basketcase by the end.
Got to finally do Aelf's birthday lunch at Blowfish yesterday, and I think everyone had a great time. The food was to die for, though the bento defeated me. Too...much...food! Getting to see folks was delightful too, and we all chatted as much as possible over the rather loud music in the place. Very trendy, and quite pricey, but nice.
Went back home and had a couple of folks over to chat and play with the kitties, before later getting back into DS9. We've made a pretty good dent into season 4 (finished with "Little Green Men", and the surprise reveal in that one nearly made Aelf choke on her drink). Decided to finish most of the season before she leaves for vacation, but leave "Broken Link" until she returns. She's not going to want to see that one and then have to wait a few weeks to figure out how it gets resolved. Or at least I wouldn't, and I had to wait 3 months for the next episode back in the day. Having them all at my fingertips for instant viewing makes me very, very happy.
Also, big crafting project #1 for this year is now complete. Hallelujah!
