Cannot wait for my Blake's 7 DVDs to arrive...*sigh*

Got my DS9 complete set last night, thank you, J-! And in honor of this, a few goodies that I couldn't help linking to:

Hee.

I am currently desperately trying to find a screencap of Stephen Colbert (it's French, bitch) from Wednesday night's episode of TDS. I want one with the crazy eyes and the sky turning red as blood, I would also very much like a transcript of that piece as I failed to tape it. I couldn't breathe I was laughing so hard. I love you, Mr. Colbert. If anybody can point me at it I will be a very happy Ellie.

Spent part of last night teaching Aelf the two choreographies she's missed in class. Was both pleased and horrified that she got the basics down in about 40 minutes. I've been working on them for months. Life is sometimes quite unfair.

Got through two more DS9 episodes because we are driven to complete the season within the next week. "Visionary" and "Distant Voices" are both nice little episodes, and the former builds up to "Improbable Cause" and "The Die is Cast" beautifully. Whereas "Distant Voices" conjures up some future Julian issues that I cannot wait to get to. So much good stuff left to come!

Oh, I managed to catch part of SciFi's first real reality based show. Wait, make that "reality", yeah that's better. Mad, Mad House is actually kinda entertaining if you go in with the right perspective. The folks in charge (the "Alts") are all the same people whose interests and personalities undoubtedly made them stand out for ridicule and abuse through most of their lives. They are given a bunch of obsessively normal types who are undoubtedly the same kinds of people who made the Alts' lives hell when they were growing up (and to some extent still do I'm sure). And the Alts are the ones in power now with the ability to toss people out with a Survivor-type cruelty. Stay in the house 'til the end and win $100,000. I'm actually kinda curious to find out who can make it.

What impressed me about the show was the fact that the Alts went after the pretty people for elimination first. They could've easily joined the crowd and targeted "Kelly", but I got the feeling watching it that while she can be obnoxious she's much more like the Alts in a lot of ways than the mundanes. She knows what it's like to be singled out, and they get that. Will it ultimately save her? That I don't know, but I am interested to find out.

The scariest part is that I was watching the show and thinking I could probably live quite easily and happily with these folks (except perhaps the vampire, he'd get on my nerves real quick). I guess I am as freakish as I've always thought I might be :)
