Slack as slack can be
Jan. 16th, 2004 08:51 amI think the only thing of note that I managed to accomplish last night was making it through the "Goddess" choreography at least once flawlessly from start to finish. I think the basics are mostly in my head (though I'm still off on some of the timing, at least I know it and can work around it), but I've got a long way to go as far as style is concerned.
Aside from that I fed myself, the cats, cleaned the litterboxes, and got to bed nice and early. Mmm, sleep. Even woke up at 6 this morning and wasn't upset to crawl out of bed at 6:15 (at the urging of Pye and Kage). Ended up after breakfast just vegging on the futon with Kage in my lap and Pye on my shoulder. It was nice to get to spend some morning time with them for a change and I felt very loved.
Doesn't take much, does it?
This morning I decided it was time to actually get motivated again so I made my way through the perilous phone tree of doom that is the Palo Alto Medical Foundation and made myself an appointment for Tuesday with my GP. Been meaning to do that for months and months, and since my other doc is on maternity leave this is the next best thing. It'll be nice not to go in to have them check out a weird mystery rash or to drain my wrist for a change.
Speaking of which have I mentioned lately how nice it is to have a fully functional wrist again? If not, shame on me.
Mmm, Yoplait Light Fat Free lemon cream pie yogurt is really good stuff. Their vanilla's pretty tasty too, and zero fat makes me very happy indeed.
And tomorrow I get two fully functional headlights again. Anyone care to wager on how much I'll get raped for it by the dealer? I love my Bug, but there's damned little I can do repair-wise myself, everything has to be done at a mechanic or the dealer. Some part of me is actually hoping it's an electrical problem rather than simply a burned out bulb, 'cause I'm pretty sure all that stuff is still under warranty. In any case I'm taking my car and a bulb and hoping the service charge will be nominal. I'm already paying $27 for a spare computer chip (so I can, you know, start my car), and if I can keep the total under $50 I'll be happy. Or at least I'll be less miserable.
I find myself lately being lured into the world of Xmen 2 fanfic, indeed there's a fun little LJ community (
xmmff) that I've been pillaging for good stuff lately. I am highly amused to see how many John Allardyce (Pyro) stories are out there. I've thought him delightfully slashable since I first saw the film, and it's nice to see I'm not alone in that. Oh and somebody did manage a Cabaret/X2 crossover with the Master of Ceremonies and Kurt that is such a clever concept that I must applaud them. I also feel somewhat less weird for having pictured Kurt singing "Wilkommen". :)
