Nothing much to report today, got quite a bit done yesterday including checking out a neighborhood or two for house listings I found on Craigslist. Also mowed the front lawn, bought my groceries, cleaned up around the house a bit and did laundry. I have such a rock star life, I swear.

One funny thing that happened at Cosentino's last night, I've started using my green Indian elephant fabric bag to take home groceries in. It's easier to carry and that way I don't clutter up the house with more plastic or paper bags. So the lady ringing me out looked at the bag and ooh-ed over it. She asked where I got it and I replied, "At a dance festival I attended." She asked if I were a dancer and I said yes. Then she asked, "Ballet?" I actually laughed as I shook my head and responded, "No, belly dance." Her eyes widened a bit and she gave me a sort of, "Oh, one of *those*." look that made me chuckle to myself.

Ballet? Jesus, I couldn't look less like one of those emaciated little creatures if I consciously tried. If I lost about 20 pounds I might be in the ballpark...maybe. But I've seen what they have to go through to perform their art, and frankly I don't find it worth it. At least with belly dance you can be any size or shape and you don't have to do yourself physical harm to dance properly. Indeed if you do harm yourself you're doing something *wrong*.

Did get in some dance time last night, which makes me happy. Also got a huge chunk of my solo worked out. The beginning and end still defeat me, but perhaps a quick class with Alyne would help me work out the kinks. Also finally got to use Aelf's free weights and do some arm work. Got a good burn going on before I decided I shouldn't push too hard my first time. Today my arms don't hurt in the least, and I look forward to working with them again tonight. I want arms of steel (gave up on the abs a while back), I want to be able to dance veils for hours on end without tiring. It's all about the upper body strength right now.

Busy week and weekend ahead. Going to see the sneak preview of 28 Days Later Friday evening up in MV. There may still be tickets available for anyone interested in attending. It's supposed to be very scary, so I'm considering bringing my stuffed tiger along to clutch like I did for The Ring. I love horror flicks, and if they actually can make me "clutch the tiger" (so to speak) with fear I feel like I've gotten my money's worth. Oh, and because I once forgot to warn a friend about flesh-eating zombie content I shall post a public warning here. This movie does contain flesh-eating zombies, and I hear they're pretty damn fast and agile ones too!

PS- forgot to thank Aelf for ripping the stubborn doorknob out of my door Sunday night, thus allowing me to install the new one which works properly. I can now lock my door, though it's got a child safey release on the outside. I showed it to Aelf who looked at me rather puzzled until I said, completely straight faced, "You know, for kids." It affords me a degree of privacy now and so long as Kage doesn't figure out how to unlock it I should be all set.
