Got a couple of hand drawn birthday cards from some of the kids back home yesterday, as well as a card from my mom that made me smile. If it doesn't turn out that we'll be moving in a few weeks I'll find someplace nice to hang them up. If we are, they'll get packed away safely for the trip. Hopefully this will be resolved no later than Thursday.
elo_sf recommended that if the realtor/landthings are not willing to drop the price that we should only sign a monthly rental agreement and give ourselves breathing room to find someplace cheaper elsewhere. I'm inclined to agree. So, two more days before we can decide what we're going to do next. *sigh* I hate waiting.
But I do have a distraction to take my mind off of the housing thing, I seem to have developed a rather odd rash on my left arm and the left side of my throat. It could be one of two things, a new allergic reaction I'm having (wouldn't be surprised) or it's the Shingles flaring up again. If my muscles suddenly become excruciatingly painful on that side of my body I'll have my answer. It's kind of sad when your best case scenario becomes a weird skin allergy. *sigh* I hate my body.
If it's Shingles again I'll quarantine myself as much as possible, but unless you're sharing food or drink with me, most folks are going to be pretty safe. And if you've had chickenpox before, then no problem.
Did I mention I hate my body? Thought so.
Ok so we're starting to look for new places to live, our criteria include:
1) fairly spacious
2) at least some yard
3) dance space
4) cats welcome
If anybody sees or knows of any likely places, preferably Santa Clara
or northwards, please let us know. It won't hurt to have a few options on the table when we go into our meeting with the realtor on Thursday.
On the positive side dance class was wonderful last night, a lot of fun and one helluva workout. "Princess of Cairo" is going to look amazing when we get it finished. I've seen it danced and it's lovely, has great musical cues, and changes up enough to keep both the dancers and the audience into it. Right now I'm still forgetting which foot goes where much of the time, but at least I mostly know where I'm going and how to get there. Mostly.
That reminds me, anyone wishing to go over Choukraine for possible performances at parties and haflas and such, Aelf and I are happy to do some tutoring. Contact us via email and we'll see what we can set up. I never get tired of dancing Alyne's choreographies, and Choukraine is one of my all time favorites. Speaking of Alyne, she actually offered our little troupe free lesson time to help us tighten up our choreographies. I nearly dropped to my knees with a chant of "We're not worthy!" when she did so. The woman's so generous with her time it's just mind boggling, and to offer us free practice time in her studio is just...man! If I didn't already practically worship the woman I would now.
