Great, busy, hectic, fun, productive weekend. Got my taxes done, yay! Got a reasonable return this year and splurged a bit on Amazon and Amazon UK to pick up a few odds and ends I've been waiting for a long while. Just so happens that March 1, Blake's 7 season 1 is finally being released in the UK and guess who preordered herself a copy. Damn I love having an all-regions DVD player.

Work was good, though pretty much what I expected results-wise. I got to see "Fight Club" and was somewhat unsatisfied by the final twist in the flick. It had been heavily foreshadowed, though ultimately the way it had been filmed I just kept mentally muttering, "There's no way it could work like that, there just isn't." Anyway, then L- surprised me with the full HK version of "Vampire Effect" or "The Twin Effect" as it's apparently called over there. Getting to see the whole thing and subbed rather than dubbed was nice. It didn't make a whole lot more sense, but it's still a very fun film.

Sunday I got to bed way too late as I stayed up until about 2 watching "The Lion in Winter". Why don't they make films like that any more? Now that is an Oscar worthy film, when I compare it to most of what's up for one this year...well, enough said. Anyway got up a bit later than I wanted to and started a day of chores. Groceries got bought, laundry got done, rooms got vaccuumed, floors were swept, beds were made and most importantly, the lawns were mowed. I quickly came to the conclusion that a machete would've been more useful out back after I'd let things go for a couple of months, but I stubborned my way through it and ended up winded and a bit sore afterwards. But what a workout.

Then I lit some candles and tried dancing the Goddess choreography for my gods in honor of Imbolc. It was amazing how much of a difference it made in my dancing when I let go of my own expectations and desires and simply danced it for Them. It was flawless, absolutely perfect and effortless. Don't know if I'll ever achieve that again, but it was so nice to know it's within my capabilities. Played around with my zills for a bit to a Tarkan song after that, then ran Goddess again just to make sure I had it. I'm sure we'll go through it tonight as well in class, but a little extra practice never hurts.

After that I took a shower to help relax my sore muscles and worked on some crafting for a bit. Meant to pop in the tape that "Wire in the Blood" was on, but couldn't remember if it was the one that was lying on the floor now broken (don't know how that happened), so decided to just channel surf until Aelf got home. She got in much later than we'd hoped, and had a good deal to do herself, so no DS9 :( Ah well, it did let me get to bed nice and early last night which was a pleasant change.

Ok, so I've seen all these commercials for this "relationship service" eHarmony, and I got curious. I'm not looking for anybody, mind you, but as a part-time Yenta I find most of these services to be of at least academic interest. So I filled out the huge questionnaire (set aside some time for it if you intend to do this yourself), and set my limits for possible matches to 30 miles of my area. I figured that was pretty reasonable.

So I finish this huge thing and go looking for my perfect matches only to discover that I'd come up completely empty. *sigh* Think I'll extend the search area and see if I have any better luck. Now I'm assuming that the cost issue comes into this if you should actually get matches. I'm imagining some sort of fee in order to get contact info regarding your soulmate. If so that's where this experiment will undoubtedly end. That is if there are any matches to be found, and given my rather split-personality responses to many of the questions (what do you do when both extremes apply to your nature?), I wouldn't be surprised if nobody matches up.

Updates when they become available.

Heh ... I'm in the same boat. Ebay and Amazon have both benefited from my "tax refund rush" ... although I suppose I shoudl really have waited 'til the money arrived, eh? ;)

LOL, I should've done that as well, but I felt the need for a little reward for getting mine done nice and early. And I've been *so* good for the past few months...and, well it's B7 on DVD for the first time ever, how could I possibly resist that?

B7?

Me, I got Angel season 3 (to be released tomorrow). Plus bought some artwork off ebay from an artist friend of mine (although I will admit that two of the three are gifts for others).

Blake's 7, darkest sci-fi series I've ever seen with one of the all time greatest anti-hero characters ever invented. The series also boasted the most shocking, unexpected, and thoroughly perfect endings I've ever seen.

You're far more generous than I *G* I need to get Angel S1, as I lost all interest in the show after Doyle got killed off. And now that the actor who played him is dead, that's the last chance I'm going to get to see him :(

I actually was a Buffy fan when it started, stopped watching when I separated from my ex, then came back to Buffy a few years ago but didn't watch Angel, and now with Buffy gone and Spike on Angel am watching Angel. So far Season 2 was definitely the best ... I caught some of last season (watched when Faith was on it) and am sort of doing my best to catch up.

Am also collecting the DS9 DVDs ... off ebay mostly. Cheaper that way. Heh.

I have a friend who works at Best Buy and can get me a very nice deal on the DVDs. He actually gave me seasons 4-6 for Xmas this year. I hadn't realized how much I missed the series really until I started watching them again. It brought back a lot of memories from my fandom days with the show as well. Gods I was such a Trekkie it wasn't even funny *G*

Having friends "on the inside" when it comes to collections is always a good thing. *grin*
