I believe I've acquired a new hobby quite unintentionally, insomnia. Running on a complete lack of restful sleep is now the norm it seems and I have no clue what to do about it. Banned the kitties last night but then couldn't drop off to sleep despite my best efforts. Finally somewhere around 2 I passed out, but spent the rest of the night waking up at random times to horrible anxiety dreams. The last was the worst, including tremendous frustration, a racing heart, and the undeniable urge to throttle someone. What's up with that?

I'd consider taking something to knock me out but I'm loathe to do it during the work week. See I have an incredibly fine tuned body clock, I don't ever use my alarm clock unless I have to get up at an ungodly hour (4 or 5 a.m.) for some reason. Ask Aelf if you don't believe me. I just wake up on time every day whether I want to or not. It's great during the week, and I don't mind rolling over and going back to sleep on the weekend either. But I'm afraid if I start screwing around with my sleep pattern with drugs I'm going to upset that, and that would suck. Tomorrow night, on the other hand, all bets are off.

I currently have several projects to work on, but the most pressing is probably a revamped Halloween costume I made ages ago of Christine's Hannibal slave girl outfit from the beginning of Phantom of the Opera:

It's mostly done but I couldn't afford very good fabric when I originally made it and of course it no longer fits as it was made for me when I was a skinny little grad student living on peanut butter and mashed potatoes. So I'm going to get me some velvet and do it up right. It shouldn't take too long to re do, and I have an idea or two for other upgrades while I'm at it. Fun!

Now I just need to figure out where to wear it on Halloween...
