One more Alpha post
May. 11th, 2006 12:57 pmSo with just a little looking around online I discovered that there's a wildlife rehabilitation place literally just down the road from me, and now I feel like a complete moron. Wildlife Rescue would've been the perfect place to take Alpha for the care he so obviously needed and I could've dropped him off there easily Tuesday morning.
But, instead of beating myself up further about this, I'm going to see this as a great opportunity to help out this organization and maybe save a few other lives in the process. I'm going to see what I can do to help them out with their wishlist of items they need, and of course donate myself. If I can be useful on a volunteer basis I'm all theirs as well. They might even have some baby squirrels on hand I could help care for.
I wanted to share this with everyone for a couple of reasons, one, so that it might inspire you to look up your nearby animal rescue groups and if you should find a critter in need, take it immediately to the professionals. And two, if anybody is wondering what I'd like for my birthday or Christmas this year, this is it, make a donation to this group, or if you're living elsewhere, to one locally in my name. That would be the best gift ever!
