Ok who watched the premiere of Defiance and was it just me or are the two leads basically Han Solo and Princess Leia? Despite the fact that the series blatantly (though, arguably, lovingly) steals from Star Wars, Star Trek, Stargate and any number of other series/films, I quite liked it and am even considering playing the game.

Thoughts?

They made a game based in the universe but it looks like it's set in San Francisco which amuses me greatly :)

goddess yes, I even said so whilst watching it -- There's Han Solo, only doing the good deed for a reward.

When he and his daughter were packing up to leave town before the attack I was actually speaking over the dialog:

So. You got your reward and you're just leaving, then?

That's right, yeah. Got some old debts I gotta pay off with this stuff. Even if I didn't, you don't think I'd be fool enough to stick around here, do you? Why don't you come with us? You're pretty good in a fight. We could use you.

Come on. Why don't you take a look around. You know what's about to happen, what they're up against. They could use a good pilot like you, you're turning your back on them.

What good is a reward if you ain't around to use it? Besides, attacking that battle station is not my idea of courage. It's more like, suicide.

And seriously, when he started calling the mayor "Sweetheart" that pretty much did it for me :)
