Feb. 13th, 2012 06:26 pmOMG Sherlock fanfic has swallowed my soul, seriously, it's good if I can remember to do things like laundry and dishes. The worst thing is I think the more I read the more intimidated I get about being able to write myself. I mean I used to be pretty good but now I look at things I produce and I hate everything I produce. I'm locked up with both writer's block and artist's block and it's really, really annoying.
Especially since I have an upcoming deadline to make :(
Any suggestions for getting past said blocks would be very welcome.

Date: 2012-02-14 05:14 am (UTC)What I will say now is this: Don't get discouraged about your writing. I know how easy it is, especially when you read something that knocks your socks off. We all do this at one point or another.
If you're wound up tight worrying that your work isn't perfect, then give yourself permission to write crap. Worry about how it sounds later; the important part is to get words on the page. When it's done, then you can go back and shine it up all pretty.

My $0.02 is to just use brainstorming type rules of just write stuff and not try to edit.
