I was not expecting ThunderDome

So I stumbled upon this weird little Canadian show called "Lost Girl" and while it's not the best thing on tv I find myself intrigued and amused by it. The premise is unique, our heroine is a plucky young gal who finds out in the first episode that she's a succubus.

Yes, a succubus.

She rescues a young girl from being date raped and said adorable girl decides she wants to be the Robin to our heroine's (whose name is Bo) Batman. Our sidekick wannabe, it turns out, is Romani and equally plucky.

Sadly both gals run afoul of local fey politics, and it turns out Bo must choose sides between the Light (including two sexy, sexy cops/fey) and the Dark (led by the sexy, sexy Morrigan). But first she has to survive a battle against two of the "Under Fey".

In short it's a sexy, sexy show with a charmingly urban fantasy setting and a little something for everyone (the slash possibilities are through the roof). I'm giving it a tentative thumb's up.

LG brings me GLEE. Is it canon that Kenzi's Roma? I didn't realise. Also, I love her wig collection. And I ♥ (Pa)Trick ZOMG SO MUCH. I so need to make icons. I've been using my Rosemary and Rue Toby Daye icon for all my posts, due to the similarity of the worlds.

I've been enjoying Lost Girl for several months.

It's not to everyone's tastes, but since I find Kenzi more amusing than annoying, it works for me. IMO Ksenia Solo really throws herself wholeheartedly into the role, which helps with the charm factor. I'm not sure I'd want to keep her company, but she helps make it fun to watch.

Ooh. It's my favorite book genre, but there's precious little film urban fantasy, this sounds great! Could you hang onto it, maybe show me the first ep next time we do Avengers evening?
