May. 5th, 2010 06:44 pmA couple of quick things in another busy week. First Hachi actually rubbed up against Kage for the first time the other day and my first thought was, "Well I guess I'm going to be down to 3 cats..." Kage, though, seemed so stunned by the move that it took her a second to react with an angry hiss and attempted swipe. Speaking of Kage she's been feeling her oats lately. She's demanding her meals again and I found her sleeping on Hachi's rocking chair rather than her usual chair this morning. Interestingly it's not a very easy one for her to get into. She also got into the living room window the other day and is starting to sleep on the back of the couch. I have no idea what's going on but I'm loving it.
Second, if anyone, and I mean anyone needs any herbs please let me know. If you're local I can get them to you fresh, if you're not, they'll have to be dried. Seriously, rosemary, basil, thyme, sage, every variety of mint imaginable, even rare stuff like hyssop, really just say the word. Also the tiny little organic strawberry plant I got months ago has gone bug-nuts (yeah I know, shocking) and is producing lots of lovely, big red strawberries. The scary thing is I'm actually contemplating buying more plants. Yes, I know, there's something very, very wrong with me.
And finally, I heard about this on NPR today and had to check it out, it's one of the most charming things I've seen in ages:
