Got to see the season finale of Being Human today as well as the first episode with the new, 12 year old Doctor. I think my reaction to both was a decided "Eh." I find myself reacting in a horrifyingly curmudgeonly manner when it comes to Doctor Who, "They've changed the credits and the damn logo too? Bah, in my day..." I think if I could say one thing to the team in charge of the show right now it would be, "You know I used to love this show when they had styrofoam rocks and tin foil robots menacing people and every other episode was filmed in the same quarry. Throwing loads of cash into effects does not make for a good show. Focus on the story more and the neat special effects less, huh?"

In other news I have the most intense art history geek crush on Waldemar Januszczak after catching two of his films, the Michaelangelo Code and Paradise Found this weekend. The research and the passion of the man just make me feel all weak in the knees.

I'm just not able to summon up much enthusiasm for the new Who. Not in a "I'll never ever watch it!" way, but I just... don't care much. I was so, so over 10 by the end of his run, so much so that I didn't even watch the last two specials. Given that, the fact that I don't like Moffat's stuff save for the Empty Child/Doctor Dances, and the fact I was really hoping for a Doctor with some gravitas this time around... just no real desire to watch.

I believe I can honestly say that you're really not missing much at least at this point.
