ALW's soundtrack to the sequel to "Phantom of the Opera" nauseatingly titled "Love Never Dies" has apparently been released on cd.

The question is, do I give it a listen and hope that it's at least worth a laugh or two before I either a) burst into tears or b) start vomiting uncontrollably.

In either case I'm reasonably sure this is one of the signs of the complete downfall of western civilization. Can Mad Max and hatchet wielding mutants be far behind?

Oh I am, I mean I read the description of this thing and the dreadful "Phantom in Manhattan". Also I don't think I'd do well up against mutants.

Man. The press night of LOVE NEVER DIIIIIIES is tonight, and I have two friends who actually got tickets. I am unspeakably jealous.

And we all know I will see it when it makes it to New York. I want to WITNESS the downfall of western civilization.

I see no possible way this can end in a tragic blasphemy against time, nature, or music itself.

So, Larry said it was better than he expected. Mostly because Jack O'Brian is a great director. But I really want to hear Nell's response; she's as critical as I am. (When we all saw The Woman in White in 2004, Larry was like "Eh... it could have been worse." Nell was like "I will NEVER get those 17 hours of my life back.")

I think it might be a watchable musical if you had no interest in/profound affection for the original or for good story telling in general. I actually read "The Phantom in Manhattan"...and that's all I've got to say about that...

I read the first... three pages? of it at some point. Never regretted putting it down.
