Could Mr. Gaeta be any more wonderful? No, no he could not.

Ok I just have to squee a little before I pass out tonight. Before we watched the new BSG ep tonight we discovered the latest webisode was on On Demand and it is Mr. Gaeta-rific. And part one made me throw my hands in the air and bellow, "YES! YES! I totally called that!" and then I did a little chair dance for quite some time. We didn't get a chance to finish it before the new ep started so aelfsciene and moonlightnrain they're all up on YouTube, just search for "The Face of the Enemy" and start with part 7 (there are 10 total). The final one seems to imply a serious Gaeta sub-plot in the remaining episodes of the series which makes me even happier.

I will just say this, Mr. Moore, if you kill him off we are going to have serious words you and I.

For those who saw the latest ep please join me in the comments because I must know what you think of the Kara stuff, the revelation of cylon number 5's identity, the Dee sub-plot and what you think will happen next. I can't say that tonight's was a "fun" episode to watch exactly, but I have to admit that I enjoyed it quite a bit for a variety of reasons. I think the first of those is that it's just really nice to have a sci-fi show that doesn't insult my intelligence continually. Yeah the series can be grim as hell sometimes, but no matter how long I've gone between episodes I get sucked right back in. The universe, dark as it is, keeps me coming back for more and it's a series I'm going to want to own in its entirety.

I'm with you on kicking Moore's ass if he kills Gaeta.

I'm not sure what I think about last night's episode. It was well done, especially the stuff with Dee. I could see where that was going, but it was still an emotional punch in the gut when it happened.

The stuff with Kara ... I dunno. She's not one of the Five, but she's not exactly human, either. Whatever she is, it scares the crap out of Leoben. I'm guessing a clone of some sort, but that's all I'm willing to speculate on at the moment.

As for Helen being the Fifth, it makes a twisted kind of sense. I didn't like the reveal as much as I thought I would, mostly because I could have done without the "You're the Fifth!" voiceover from Saul. I thought that was a bit over the top, especially as the implications from the flashback sequence spelled it out loud and clear.

I liked Tyrol's flashback much better, and not just because he looked really good in that brown suit and sunglasses. I also liked how he stayed huddled by the wall after, and the whole "That was me" thing when he points to the shadow permanently etched into the stone. Simple, effective and chilling.

Totally, totally agreed. I did think that Ellen being a cylon made a certain amount of sense, it certainly explained why Tigh was so obsessed with her and why he kept seeing her face on the Six in the brig. It wasn't just his intense guilt over her death, rather the subconscious information that she was one too, I like that. The question is did she come back, and if so is she hanging with Cavil now?

It was funny when Leoben started running aelfsciene said, "Oh that's it, she's the Fifth", and I said no, he wouldn't be terrified of her if that were the case. No, she's something else completely, the "harbinger of death", and I can't wait to see where that's going. Nowhere good, that's for sure.

And yeah on Dee, I did like that they gave her a more dignified end than poor Cally. I'm still smarting over that one. I also liked that if Lee had actually been paying attention to her he probably could've picked it up but he was too self-involved (again) to catch it.

With you on the Tyrol sequence, I thought the Anders and Tigh ones were kind of lame, but the Chief's was damned effective.

Regarding Gaeta, did you catch the webisodes? If so I'm curious what you thought regarding the end and its implication for the remainder of the season. I have a theory or two...

I did indeed see the webisodes, though I will admit I have not given much thought to them. I have plotting of my own I should be doing, rather than trying to reverse-engineer someone else's work. *g* I would, however, be more than happy to hear your theories on the matter.

The meeting with Adama I suspect related to Gaeta's new anti-Cylon outlook and probably something along the lines of "We shouldn't be working with these guys." I suspect that Zarek is going to be fermenting trouble in the next episodes and if part of his platform for reform is an end to the alliance I also suspect that Gaeta is going to back him. It would be rather fitting, particularly after his flashbacks to Baltar.

I'm also assuming his brush off of Hoshi (and if you heard a high pitched, "NOOOO!" in the wee hours of this morning that was me when I watched the final webisode) not only related to the info he got from Evil 8 and his culpability in the deaths of the colonists but his plans for the future. I suspect that Gaeta is going to be a serious force to be reckoned with in the coming episodes and I could not be more thrilled.

Nod. Yeah, that's about what I was thinking, though I'm not entirely convinced of his involvement with Zarek just yet. We'll see after the next episode, I think.

I want more with Tyrol, dammit. He's been one of my favorite characters since the miniseries.

We may not get much of him in the next one but I doubt they'll overlook him for long, he's way too popular.
