Wow my hair looks oddly red in the photo, but I promise it's actually quite blonde. Weird. Anyway while I was getting it cut this obnoxious mother was in with her two little boys and kept up a running commentary the entire time including saying, "Some girls like short hair, but most girls like long hair. Mommy likes long hair." Way to reinforce those gender stereotypes, mom! Her poor husband looked like he was seriously debating either shooting her or himself, I actually felt a little sorry for him.

So far I'm liking the new do though it's a little shorter than I'd wanted. But it feels really good in this heat, and it'll grow out so no worries :)

Dr. Who was fun and I about lost my shit when Davros showed up, I mean dude, first the Cloister Bell then Davros? That is serious old school! I loved Harried Jones, Former Prime Minister, and was sad to see her go but at least she went well. I knew it was too much to hope that Martha actually would be scattered into her atomic particles, but it was still a nice thought while it lasted. Adored Ianto, who I kind of still want to have his own spinoff show or become a companion. His look at Jack when he commented about getting info on Project Indigo from a soldier he was talking to was precious, just precious. And I adored the interplay between the former companions via computer with Rose making comments on her end.

In short it was pretty darn fun, though I've heard part two is somewhat less enjoyable.

SGA on the other hand was incredibly dull. [livejournal.com profile] moonlightnrain and I were forced to make our own fun as the show wasn't offering us any. There were a couple of moments that were entertaining, like when Rodney starts telling the Archemedes story and John blurts out, "Rodney, I'm not taking a bath with you." Like woah! Then later on when he's talking to yet another lame-ass Wraith and he comments that the Wraith should kneel in front of him 'cause that would be different and kind of creepy. I think Prince summed my reaction up nicely:

I'm gonna' put this in a way so as not to offend or unnerve,
But there's a rumor goin' all around that you ain't been gettin' served.
They say that you ain't you know what in baby who knows how long.
It's not for me to say what's right when all I want to do is wrong.

Seriously, John needs to get hisself some boo-tay.

Woolsey, on the other hand is hardcore pimpin' on Atlantis, isn't he? Dude he's got the end all be all bachelor pad, it is seriously swank. Also it is so nice to have someone smart running the place for a change. When John was all, "Hey let's trust this Tyre guy, I'm sure he means well even if he's betrayed us before and was seriously hopped up on Wraith goofballs." Woolsey, however was flat out, "Dude, that's idiotic." and I wanted to hug the man. I like Woolsey a lot, and part of it's because it's Robert Picardo and partly because he's such a smart every man type character. I adored him getting lost in the city and not being able to open the doors. That's just delightful.

Also, was that a friggin' Borg in the clips for the next episode or was I on crack? Blinky LED lights, pale skin, weird.

Oh. Em. GEE!!! That is an adorable cut on you! Actually was just realizing that the hottie on Primeval has roughly the same cut. :)

Gonna head on down to GameStop in a bit and see if they have the sequel to X-Men: Legends lying around. Maybe pick up a DDR pad too. :)

Thanks for being the sane one yesterday. You know what I mean. And watching you lose your shit over DW was a total delight. :D

"MOST girls have long hair"? In what universe is this woman living? Most of the *women* I know have shoulder length or shorter, with the exception of the SCAdians!

*hrumph*

Yeah that was my reaction too, although why you'd say something like that in a loud stage whisper while I was sitting not 10 feet away getting my hair cut short... Well, like I say even her husband looked like he was about ready to murder her so I took comfort in that.

Good for you

What a surprise it was to find a picture of you on your LJ, good for you, your hair looks great and I'm glad you were confident enough to post a picture of yourself. I'm off for the next couple of days so the rest of the story will be on its way. John

I love the hair!!!!! Seriously, that is an adorable style for you.

Also? What You Said about Woolsey. Between how he handled John, and how he dealt with Teyla, I'm thinking he may be the best commander they've had yet. &hearts

Woolsey may, just may, take second place as favorite commander right after Sisko if he keeps this up. Let's just hope the Atlantian Stupidity Field that seems to suck the IQ right out of every commander assigned there after a little while doesn't effect him. So far so good.

He really did handle everyone beautifully in the episode and I loved how he even got John to ask him if he could go on a mission rather than just announcing he was going. John got away with a helluva lot with Sam but Woolsey's going to crack the whip and I fucking adore him for it.

OH yeah. He's far too used to getting his own way, and hasn't had anyone who will stand up to him. Elizabeth didn't have the spine to do it, and Sam was too much of a loose canon herself to do anything other than give him free rein. Woolsey is going to make him toe the line. Which, to be honest, they all really need.

The thing about Sam is that she just never felt comfortable in command. She doesn't want to be the boss, she likes being a part of a team and being able to focus on what she does best (SCIENCE!). Beyond that, despite being career military, she has this intense need for everyone to like her. She wanted to be a friend, a member of the team, not the sort of aloof bureaucrat that either Elizabeth or Woolsey are. And while Elizabeth was entirely too spineless, I think Richard's going to, as I say, crack the whip and I'm going to love him for it.

If you weren't so swamped as it is, after reading this I would beg you for a little Atlantis ficlet from Woolsey's POV....

I think I need a few more episodes under my belt before I feel entirely comfortable writing Woolsey, but it might be fun to deconstruct an episode from his POV...in my copious free time :)

That was what I was thinking as well. With lots of mentions of his new, pimpin' lifestyle.
