Tears of Joy

Ok so this is my non-spoilery Avatar finale review. In a word: AWESOME.

Seriously, by the end I had tears of goddamn joy streaking down my cheeks. All I have to do is think of a few of the big moments from the episode and I'm in tears again. I felt a lot like I did at the end of Star Wars when I saw it in the theater the first time as a little girl.

I am completely and utterly satisfied by what appeared on my television screen. I can't even begin to tell you how infrequently that happens in my life. I mean after the whole Deathly Hallows atrocity I'd begun to wonder if I was ever going to enjoy a finale again. And then Aang and Team Avatar come along and restore my faith in storytelling again. Ms. Rowling, take note, this is how it's done.

Two quick things, I'm totally making Aang's costume from Part 4 of Sozin's Comet at some point and I'm wearing it to a con. That's just all there is to it. Second, I think I need to get the four nation symbols tattooed somewhere on my body, I just need to decide where.

If anybody hasn't seen this yet and wants to please ping me because I will happily watch the whole thing again...and again...and probably again...

Well, what are you doing tomorrow afternoon? I need to do laundry here, but if you'd like to come over, I'll wait to watch parts 3 & 4 with you (and can totally enjoy parts 1 & 2 again, this time being able to share the experience with you).

Hmm, well we could play before Dr. Who on Friday, btw I've got parts one and two of the finale so I thought we could just blow through both episodes Friday from 8-10 and then catch the new SGA ep.

BTW did I tell you that J- is writing me SGA fic? I about lost my shit...

Wait, isn't the new Who on at 8pm? And wouldn't that mean we could only blow through one ep of the finale? Or have I miscounted?

Anyway, I think we can cram a little time in then, but probably not much by the time you get home, do your evening routine and we eat. But if that's all I can get, I'll take it. :)
