You should read [livejournal.com profile] morgandawn's XMen 2 Awards, they made me giggle a lot.

I'm also a couple of chapters into the novelization for X2 and am liking it very much already. Yay Chris Claremont for taking on the duties and knowing the characters and their powers intimately enough to write them well. Also yay for a few extra bits of character development and interaction! Here's hoping he also managed to tie up some of the loose plot points. As soon as I finish the book I'll be happy to loan it out to anyone who'd be interested. So far the bit that kicked my ass was the list of books and movies Nightcrawler owns, yay pirates! It made me dream of a swashbuckling Kurt in the next film *happy sigh*

Also Aelf and I have decided that we need to see the movie with [livejournal.com profile] technocowboy at some point, the Nightcrawler Fanclub (Bay Area Chapter) just needs to go together, don't you think? We also spent last evening re-reading Kitty's Fairytale and the Nightcrawler miniseries. Heh, Bamfs...

Speaking of my favorite fuzzy elf, here are some really cool wallpapers you might want to check out:

Also public service announcement time for anyone who wants to learn to drum:

Build-A-Drum workshop with the Stan "the Drum Man" Secrest!
May 10th & 11th at the Psychic Eye BookShop, 1128 El Camino Real, Moutain View, CA 94040
650.964.2220

Work with Stan Secrest, a man who lives and breathes drums, to create a quality drum of your very own! Choose from African and Native American style drums, and have a lot of fun making and understanding your drum!

To allow for the maximum of time for you to work on your new drum with Stan, the workshop hours will run the same hours the store is open: Saturday: 10am-10pm and Sunday: 11am-7pm, with breaks in between. It is possible to attend for just one day, depending on the style of drum you choose:

"As with most things, all good things take time, and so it goes with drum
building. In the one day workshop, participants have sufficient time to assemble and complete the Native American style hand drum. While they are the exception, there are those who can begin and complete the African style drum in only one day. As a rule of thumb, it's best to plan for two days if you'll be building an ashiko, or djembe."

Other than a list of things you'll need to bring with you, such as gloves, a blanket on which to work and a few other sundries, the only requirement is your enthusiasm and eager hands!

Choose from the following drum styles:

22" Ashiko (12" head) 115.00
28" Ashiko (12" head) 130.00

24" Djembe (13" head) 135.00
27" Djembe (13" head) 140.00

3"x 16" Native Frame Drum 105.00

(Pictures of styles available at http://buildadrum.com/whichdrum.htm )

The price listed includes the materials to make your drum and workshop time.

To register for the workshop, you can email Tempest at tempest@meddevi.com with:
-your name
-phone #
-first and second choices in drums
-preferred email address

or call The Psychic Eye *after* May 1st to register. There is limited space available, so if you pre-register with your credit card, or in person at the store beforehand, your spot will be secured.

I've now spent entirely too long looking at Nightcrawler images, dithering over what to use for desktop and LJ images. And then I had to rearrange my action figures, since I didn't have room for all the Kurts at this point, so one monitor is entirely DC, the other Marvel (with 7 Nightcrawlers!).

I don't know how far you went through the gallery at NightScrawlers, but I saw this and thought of you and laughed and laughed and laughed. How perfect!

Also, the look Alan Cumming decided on for the opening, which still makes me giggle.

Bwah-ha-ha! How adorable, I snatched that one up. But I grabbed a different one by that artist as my new wallpaper:

Bamfette is now one of my new artistic heroes *G*

Hey if you've got the legs, show 'em!

That Bamfette image is one I grabbed, too, along with a couple of others. But I couldn't resist using the hangin-out Kurt from Evolution. Though the purple's a bit brighter than I'm used to, so I may switch it out after awhile.

Oh my god. I was so scared he'd screw up the part, but he was FABULOUS. And any man who decides to go all Utilikilt for a movie opening can't be all bad! And yay for actors who play for my team getting cool-ass parts! :)

Oh, HELL yeah, I'll go with you! But we gotta take [livejournal.com profile] lonespiritwolf2 as well. He hasn't seen the movie yet, and he's kinda... irritated that I went without him. Yay, fuzzyelf!

I'm not exactly a member of the Bay Area Fuzzy Elf Fan Club, but if you don't mind interlopers, I *would* like to see it again sometime. :)

You know Aelf and I were considering seeing it at the Winchester theaters, we're kinda intrigued by them and neither of us has ever been...

Hey, Winchester theaters are good! I work across the street from them. That's where I saw it the first time. :)

Never? Wow.

They're not all that, though. Kinda like smaller or maybe similar versions to Century Shoreline, last time I went.

But they are really close to Flames. :)
