Ok I so didn't need a new obsession but it looks like I'm hooked on the Canadian series Traders after just seeing a few clips from season one on YouTube and this video to "Code Monkey":

I totally want Grant in the weirdest way. Looks like season one is out on dvd but that's only 13 meager episodes, surely there must be a way to lay hands on the whole series somewhere...

I have found the motherload of download lists, now if I can just find a reliable episode guide (I already know I want most of season one), we are golden.

I've never seen that one!

I'm more familiar with the SGA version. Loads of Hewlett love either way!

The SGA one was the first I stumbled upon, but I think this one works even better. Speaking of SGA vids have you seen the McKay one to the song "Stress" by Jim's Big Ego? If not you must:

I think you're right about the Traders working better. But I have a special place in my heart for SGA. ;)

Yes! I've seen that vid. Caught its premiere at Escapade a couple years ago.

...and now for the shameless self-pimp...

My Daniel Jackson vid. (another imeem link)

Oh dude I watched that one a while back and totally meant to comment you! Loved it! Great song and fantastic execution. Of course it's hard to go wrong with Daniel Jackson, love him so very, very much. Have you got any SGA ones in the works?

BTW, my favorite John vid:

and this McKay one just kicks my ass, the effects and editing are like woah:

Alas, no SGA in the vid queue. There seems to be plenty of it around. Once upon a time, a couple of years ago, before I learned to vid, I had all sorts of SGA vid bunnies. Not anymore. I just looked at my vid song folder.... House, jPod, Burn Notice, Dexter and several SG-1 things. No SGA. Weird.

Just finished the Dexter vid. I hope.

Don't think I've seen those vids you linked (been dinking with the last edit of Dexter), but I'll take a look. I know lim does amazing work. She makes vids *art*. So beyond what I'll ever be able to do.

I'll just settle for my silliness.

I shall anxiously await your Dexter vid then. Will it include stuff from seasons 1 and 2? And can I ask what song you're doing it to or do I have to wait and be surprised? :)

:)

It's just season one. Focusing on 1.10, Seeing Red, but there's stuff from other s1 eps as well.

I'm debating on posting. Was thinking about taking it to Con*Strict next month. But I really really *really* hate not putting it out there. Greedy, I am, yes. Like a five year old, I want to show it off. *facepalms*

Won't reveal the song though. ;)

Oh you tease! Please do post as those of us not attending would dearly love to see it :)

I think I'm going to post it to a Dexter comm. I'll be sure to link you. ;)

(was getting all set to upload it to imeem... and then remembered I hadn't done the credits yet. d'oh)

Season one is out on DVD and available via Amazon, the remaining seasons I've only seen via DL :(

Yes, it's hard not to get sucked into Traders, especially given David Hewlett's performance. I wish I could help you out, but I only have certain episodes on video tape. However, if you haven't read these stories already, I highly recommend Sealie's Grant in Atlantis series. The first story is Role Models.

Ooh I'll check those out, thanks. You wouldn't happen to know if there's any other fanfic for Traders out there, would you? I tried Fanfiction.net and couldn't find anything.

I think you'll enjoy Sealie's series. She writes Grant really well. As for other Traders fic, I found some slash after making a quick search at SGA Crossroads. Here's what I found:
Yavanna's Hersey's Kisses and Tarlan's Inside Out series.

I can't remember if I've read any of these. To be honest, Grant and slash doesn't really work for me. However, I know I have a couple of gen stories on my hard drive, so I'll dig those up. I'm not sure, but they might have some SGA/Traders fic on Wraithbait.

I checked out the Grant slash and I've got to say I'm with you on that. He's just so...childlike that hooking him up with anyone feels a bit wrong to me. I like the gen stuff I've read with him and Donald, particularly this two story set:

Hi again. I managed to track down those gen stories I was telling you about. They are Traders/SGA Snippet and Grantlantis by [livejournal.com profile] harriet_spy. Oh! And I came across another SGA/Traders crossover that I'd forgotten about. It's White Rabbit by [livejournal.com profile] valderys.

Happy reading! I'm going to check out those two stories you told me about! :-)

Ooooh! I don't think I've read these stories! Thanks for the links! :-)
