Ok so the new episode of Avatar is at least briefly up on Youtube (start here), but don't expect it to remain there much longer. So far just a few seconds in I'm already dying, just dying. All I can say is that Zuko's sense of humor is pretty damn perfect. I mean that is precisely how I always figured he'd tell a joke. I just...wow... Can I love this show more than I do? Signs point to no.

"My girlfriend turned into the moon."

"That's rough, buddy."

'Kay, much as I loved the Aang and Zuko show, the Sokka and Zuko show is every bit as wonderful as I'd dared to dream...

First, SUKI!!!!

Second, the boys both get saved by their girlfriends and that is just the awesomest thing ever.

Third, MAI!!!

Fourth, holy crap Zuko and Sokka double teaming Azula was just about the greatest thing I've ever seen.

Fifth, Mai's line, "I love Zuko more than I fear you." made me squeak aloud.

Sixth, TY LEE!!!!

After finishing parts one and two I can honestly say this set of eps kicked all kinds of ass. Yes there were some plot holes that could've been better handled, but the character moments and overall action more than made up for them.

How could I not share this? I just hope Nick's learning something from how they completely fucked themselves this season. I'd be happy to watch the episode on their channel with their commercials if they let me. *sigh*

Oh I am SO glad you saw it too - I was just blown away with the character moments and the overall awesomeness! My favorite Zuko like: "I'm never happy." I'm excited about how they're developing his character - he has grown so much and you can tell he's going to continue growing.

I'm glad Mai is being fleshed out more too. She can be such a complex character when given the chance - and she took it, ran with it and is now a dot on the horizon with it. I didn't care for her much before, I didn't feel they'd done her justice, but now I've seen enough to want to see more development plz!

And wasn't Suki's Crouching Tiger moment just win? I never felt she got enough air time and it's good to see her again.

And ... and ... rocket!Azula --! Is there nothing she can't do??

Zuko was beyond awesome in this episode, I loved when he admitted finally that Uncle Iroh was way more of a father to him than his real one ever was. I'd wondered if the look Mai gave Azula when she interrupted her picnic with Zuko would lead to an eventual mutiny, and boy did it ever. I was surprised that Ty Lee developed sufficient backbone to join in. Surprised but very happy. Also I am such a complete Mai/Zuko 'shipper now it ain't even funny.

Suki is a friggin' goddess and if Sokka doesn't marry her I'm going to be hideously disappointed in the boy. Well, unless he marries Toph, I'd probably be ok with that.

Rocket Azula was just...well, I'm going back to my original theory about her eventually taking her dad down before the Avatar even gets the chance. That girl is a straight up force of nature.

The Man says he grabbed them, but I haven't seen them yet. (I'm looking forward to it.)

I don't know what kind of crack they're smoking over at Nick. That I'll own the final episodes on DVD before they're even broadcast doesn't give me much incentive to tune in. I'd wager the Avatar folks are more than just a little frustrated with Nick.

You are going to love these episodes, trust me on that. And I couldn't begin to explain why Nick is treating the show the way it is. It just makes absolutely no sense at all.

It's been long since gone from YouTube, but I managed to track down a copy and watched today on my lunch break, and OMG, so good. Tears in my eyes (quietly, as I'm at work) by the end, and I did the mouth-cover-gasp at exactly the Mai and Ty Lee points you squeed about above, I suspect. Wow.

I'd known about Suki, saw that part earlier when checking out NYCC stuff (have you seen the Ember Island Players clip? It is comedy gold, I can't wait), but OMG YES. And Sokka and Zuko so naturally working together against Azula was a thing of beauty--the only thing that will be better is the crazy meld of bending from all of them seen in the NYCC preview.

Mooooooore, more, must have more!
