First, I took a personal day off today 'cause this weekend just wasn't long enough and I've got OMG so much vacation/sick time to burn that I can afford it. I'm about to run out the door to do a bunch of errands, but before I do I just heard from windrose that her Yule package already arrived and, being naughty, she opened it. So I can now share my creation with all of you.





It's the most complex quilt I've ever attempted, and has a degree of 3-dimensionality that I've never before achieved. The picture doesn't really do that aspect justice I'm afraid. I also did the design entirely freehand, just looking at a picture of the Blue Spirit, cutting fabric, and laying it out to see if it worked. It was kind of like putting a puzzle together, challenging and fun. Also a little scary. But I think it turned out pretty damn well if I do say so myself.

And now I've got tons of errands to run and another trip to the post office to face, and as the precedent has been set, if you receive yours early feel free to go ahead and open it. I won't stand on ceremony this year ;)

Come over whenever you get out of work, hon, I've gotten all of my running around errands done and am settling in to get all of the other odds and ends finished so I'll be home.
