Once again Lance Mannion sums up this week's episode of Heroes better than I ever could.

The level of willful stupid required of the characters on the show in order to make them do what the plot demands is starting to actively push me away from it. One more episode like this and I won't be back after the break. I'm sorry, just no.

There were two moments that made me want to stick around for next week's cliffhanger. First was Ando's pouty comment about Hiro always having to be the one to save the world. He just looked so sad when he got left behind (again). And of course when the male half of the Wonder Twins ended up dead I could cheer, "One down, one to go!" Alas, they killed off the least annoying of the two.

On the other side of the equation the stupid burned fierce and bright in the episode, and even the usually smart characters were forced to ride the superhero short bus. The teaser for next week made me bury my face in my head and groan aloud. Oh gee, Sylar gets his powers back...wonder how that might've happen-...oh, you're just going to show him shooting up with Claire's blood well that answers that. Bloody hell. And their big selling point for the next episode is "Hey we're going to kill off two of the major characters, don't you want to see who?" At which point I'm screaming, "But you jackasses have already shown us that that doesn't matter 'cause Claire's blood can resurrect the dead! GAH!!"

Seriously, just give Hiro and Ando their own spin-off series and I'll just watch that instead. Let Noah pop by from time to time, that's all I need.

I'm still watching because, well, most of what i watch or read leaves me wanting in some way if I look at it too critically, so I try not to.

That said, this is becoming ridiculous. And if anotehr female or minority dies, even one I don't like, while Sylar, a character I find manifestly uninteresting, is still on the show, I pretty much have to hang up my cape.

Dude I'm right there with you. I'll actually be stunned if they don't kill Nikki off, but I have little hope that Sylar will meet the end he so richly deserves. And if they take out Hiro...well aside from pretty much cutting their own throats ratings-wise I may never watch another NBC series again.

Yeah, I was really really really not cool about the whole 'Claire's blood is a resurrection potion' plot point. I understand that it's a comic book/Princes of Amber trope that nobody ever actually dies, but that doesn't mean I have to like it.

And there are better ways of doing it that don't open up quite so many plot holes. I mean if it could do that do you really think they wouldn't have just been bleeding Adam out for the past 30 years? They'd have stockpiles of resurrection juice in cold storage at the company.

That's my fear--maybe they do.

Or, perhaps, if it was Adam's blood then it would bring them back as Evil SuperVillains!

One question, if they've got literal vats of Adam's blood, why do they need Claire? And if it does turn one into a supervillain does that mean Noah and Nathan will soon follow in his footsteps?

i was gonna say that blood doesn't store well (it doesn't). But this IS super regeneration blood.

It's super regeneration/resurrection/immortality blood, I'm thinking it would store better than canned tomatoes myself.

I had that same reaction (and I pretty much second everything else in [livejournal.com profile] ebonlock's post), but I saw someone point out that we don't actually know that HRG died. Obviously, a bullet to the head would've given him severe brain damage at a very minimum, but I'm given to understand that that kind of wound isn't necessarily instantly lethal. And I'm much happier about a "Claire's blood is a full healing potion" plot point than the alternative.

I would've bought that if they'd given him a transfusion immediately on the beach. But it looked like his ass was dragged all the way back to headquarters, his eyes were open and he didn't appear to be breathing. So I'm really thinking it was straight up resurrection.

[livejournal.com profile] bryant has a 'punch in the face' factor for Heroes. Reasons for being punched in the face include things like 'being willfully stupid, missing the obvious, and being Mohinder'

You know it's really sad when I can't even watch Mohinder for the eye candy aspect any more. He's just become so willfully ignorant that he's no longer pretty to me. I just want to bitch slap him every time he's on the screen these days. Of course I have a similar reaction to Peter...and Claire recently...and flying boy...and the twins...and Sylar...

BTW - did Matt just up and disappear, or is that just me missing the M3?

I have no idea where Mohinder's commonlaw husband is/was when Sylar just waltzed in the door. You'd think a detective would have some sort of home security system, but apparently not. And even without powers Sylar can do all sorts of crazy shit. Once again I am forced to say "What fucking ever".

LOL, wonder twins. That's enough to make me stop watching any show. "Form of...human hosepipe!"

Oh Ando...

The show is making me shake my fist at the hour I spend up Monday nights.

I've taken to recording it on an RW disc so I can just erase it after I watch it. The fact that I watched this one mostly on fast forward does not bode well.
