News flash! Sun rises in east, and Senate Democrats return to abusive relationship with GOP boyfriend saying, "We're sure this time it'll be different, you'll see!" I am forced to remind myself that as pathetic and sniveling as they are at least they beat the alternative. Yes, my political outlook can basically be summed up as, "Well, at least I'm pretty sure the Democrats won't be quite so bugfuck insane and might actually undo some of the disasters of the past 6+ years...maybe...if it's ok with the Republicans, that is."

Also if anyone can possibly explain to me the concept of a Log Cabin Republican in a way that doesn't boil down to "I'm sure if I'm sufficiently subservient to the Right they won't throw rocks at me...oh, and no new taxes!", I'd love to hear it. I cannot explain the Log Cabin types, unless they're just wealthy gays who vote republican because republicans cut taxes to the wealthy.
