Clif at Sadly, No! presents us with "this jaw-dropping, brain-searing, wang-yanking, gag-inducing and yet awe-inspiring chef d’oeuvre* from Michael Medved:"

Those who claim that the United States has become a rapacious, arrogant, destructive, domineering and imperialistic power must somehow explain the continued independent existence of the nation of Canada.

I've gotta' say this is pure essence d'wingnut. Canada exists therefore America is good, Q.E.D. How do they even think these thoughts without their brains exploding with concussive force? I just don't get it.

They think? I thought they just used cut-and-paste to produce their screeds.

Yes but someone, somewhere had to originate this thought. Of course we have no evidence that said person still has their head, so...

This bizarre statement reminds me of the Michael Moore movie, "Canadian Bacon." That film, as a metaphor for big ugly America and sweet, cuddly Canada, may yet be proven prescient on some level.

As soon as the technology exists to cheaply produce light sweet crude from the Alberta tar sands, we'll invent a reason to invade or otherwise pwn Canada. Although I suspect we're slackin' when it comes to natural gas. Give it time.

(forgive if slightly incoherent, not doing too well tonight. plus cat is attacking my hand/arm while I'm trying to type. ow.)
