Hey finally an earthquake I could actually feel! Early reports are saying 5.6, which sounds about right judging by what I felt. It was very wobbly while I was sitting on the couch watching the Daily Show, felt like I was sliding one direction, the couch another and the earth in one more. A little weird but not scary. Kage was mildly puzzled and I don't think Pye even noticed what was happening, but neither's the slightest bit freaked, which is nice.

Let's just say on the second floor it was a lot more wobbly. Both girls came darting in from the balcony scared shitless. The gin threatened to fall from the top of the entertainment center, but stayed put.

You're going to laugh but as soon as it ended my first thought was, "Gosh I hope that bottle of gin on the top of the entertainment center at Raven's stayed put." It was just the first thing that popped into my head. It just seemed like the most precarious thing in your place so I worried :)

*You're* going to laugh, but when I commented I started to type a new paragraph that began "I'm sure you were on the edge of your seat worrying abut my gin." Then I erased it because I thought it would sound snarky instead of self-mocking....

I should have been more worried about the metal raven since it has a wicked sharp beak, it's heavy, and at the time I was sitting on the floor right under it. Hmm. Maybe it's time to redecorate.

OH NOES!!!!!

Both of mine went 'WTF!' Toast scarpered off room-wards. Arnold, being both smart and predictable, ran under the coffee table.

C-- and I kind of looked at each other stupidly before we headed into the doorway between the lr and the hall. :>

I suspect this was an intensely different sensation on the ground floor versus the second floor. It was interesting on my level but not alarming thankfully.

Quite probably. :)

BTW, if you're able to give me a call tonight before 10pm, can you?

I was stopped at a red light on Grant Rd and when it started, for the first second, I thought maybe my car was idling really bad and was about to die. Heh. Only one picture fell off our bookshelves at home, but it didn't.

I'm really glad I'd made it home before the earthquake hit, traffic was nasty enough on 101 tonight without adding any other elements to it.

And that's how many times in ten years? (taking notes for my skittish spouse, who forgets that there's a fault line here, too)

Third time I've actually felt something, the first time I was sound asleep and thought it was part of a dream, by the time I woke up it was over.
