For those who haven't been keeping up with the Snape after DH challenge responses that have been rolling in I'd like to point you at War Dead, which has turned out to be my favorite posted so far. Of course it's bloody well spoilery, but ye gods if you haven't read the book by now you've got no damned reason to complain about it. It's beautiful, haunting, and damned well written.

If you're more in the mood for a good laugh allow me to recommend The Best Stays of Our Lives by the indomitable blpaintchart (she of the "Mr. Whip" series of Snupin stories. Each of her stories is hilarious and guaranteed to put you in a better mood if not cause you to chuckle aloud. The theme is the Order of Merlin awards being handed out at the end of the war and of course she mixes a bit of Snupin in for her devoted fans. Arguably my favorite line from Snape: “I shall therefore resolve this issue by being dangerously furious with everyone.” It's just so...him. Go read, go read!

On a completely unrelated note I'm considering growing my hair out again. I'm back to dancing regularly and there's just something about bellydance that makes me want to have long hair when I do it. Having it long enough to braid again would also be nice. I am a very bad judge of what looks good on me, though, so I put it to all of you, long hair or short? Do you have a preference?

I'm nearly always in favor of longer hair on a gal on principle, but having not met you, I'm not a good judge of what would be best for you.

Longer hair has some advantages to be sure, but some pretty major disadvantages as well. I will admit one of the two reasons I've kept it rather short recently is that it's much easier to care for. The other is entirely egotistical, one of my coworkers commented that I look younger with it shorter :)

I like long hair. I like you in long hair, and prefer you in long hair. But I think that the current cut works very well on you too, and would not be heartbroken if it stayed.

And I shall be fascinated to see what you've left for me, I was also thinking since Aelf and I were talking about getting Chinese for Avatar night that we'd both swing by and see the girls Friday night. That way they'd have a little more company than just me the whole time.

a) Okay, fine, I like it short. It might sound weird, but it shows off the angles of your face much better. This took me by surprise when you first cut it, and I kept catching myself staring at your face.
b) I'm quite certain you'll love it. Mildly certain you'll be a wee bit cross with me for buying it. But I can live with that. ;)
c) The cats would love that! There's a huge new bag of catnip flavored treats (the one flavor, finally, that they agree upon) in the cupboard. Have fun spoiling them. :)

In NC safely, by the way. Well, minus my checked baggage, sadly. Although the airport promised to deliver it tomorrow. Luckily I was smart and packed my favorite jeans and some t-shirts and my underthings in my carry on bag.

I have an idea, you should post a picture of yourself on LJ with either short or long hair, that should make you decide which you like, but since you don't have the guts for that I vote for short. John

I've known you with long hair but never seen you with short. Short might suit you better IMO, but I don't know. Can you post a picture somewhere of you with short hair?
