I slept last night! Not all the way through, of course, but enough to feel almost human today. Hooray! Despite a day that gave "stress" a whole new meaning yesterday, I'm rested and ready to handle today's madness. I think part of that was giving myself the night off, kicking back and reading some fanfic instead. Each of the cats got some outside time and some lap time and there were no fights. Work may have been crazed, but my home life was decidedly tranquil.

I need to spend a bit of time this weekend writing. I've gotten nothing more done on my story and the October deadline is already looming. Once my commute doubles in length I'm going to have even less time during the week and I'll need to do a lot more errands and such on the weekends which means my free time is going to go from little to next to none. I just don't feel terribly inspired at the moment and am reasonably sure if I try to force myself to write I'm going to end up staring at a blinking cursor for hours on end rather than doing anything productive.

But first, must finish quilt...Have to say I'm pretty damned proud of this one, it's the most complicated thing I've tried so far and it turned out surprisingly well. Can't wait to show it off after it's been gifted.

Would it help if I gave you a writing prompt for the story? Or asked you questions about it? I've been dying to read more!

I guess what I'm asking is, is there anyway I can help with the inspiration? Maybe send you songs that remind me of your plot or characters?

At this point I think I just have to finish up my current quilt project and then go back to my notes and see what I'm inspired to work on next. If I get anything written, though, I'll forward it on to you for feedback.

PS: Looking at the forecast this weekend, please do remember that I have AC and would be more than happy to have you using it in my absence, especially if that means you can finish the quilt and/or get some writing done. :)

I'll bear that in mind, though my apartment has been rather nice so far. Not stifling in the least.
