Aug. 27th, 2007 10:20 amWell I'm back and that was one of the weirdest procedures I've ever had. The surgeon was nice and very chatty and we talked pretty much the entire time. Interestingly he didn't have to shave anything, just taped my hair out of the way, so yay for that. I've never wished to be able to see what was going on during a procedure in my life. There was lots of squishing and pressure and the surgeon asked if I was a stubborn person. I had to admit I was to which he replied, "I have a theory, stubborn people get stubborn cysts. This one just won't come out." Finally he got it and asked, "Wanna' see it?"
Well what else could I say? Yes, please! It was huge! It never felt that big. He then asked if I'd named it, to which I could only reply that I hadn't wanted to get too attached. He seemed to find this a wise decision.
Now the worst part of it all is that I can't get the incision wet for 48 hours, which means no shower or washing my hair until Wednesday. Ick. I'll take baths and probably cheat a bit, washing the other side of my hair until then. The nice thing is that I don't have any bandages to fuss with, just need to put a bit of antibiotic ointment on there every night and that's it. In the meantime my hair's all stiff and sticky on the right side as if I'd had some sort of horrid mousse-related incident.
Still numb for now, I expect that I'll be a good deal less happy once that wears off but for now all is well. I'm watching Blithe Spirit again and the cats are outside enjoying the sunshine. Not too bad for a Monday morning.

That sounds not all that bad, really. The no showering part sucks, but you could probably get away with a bandanna for a couple of days.
Had more revelations about the script in the shower this morning (speaking of showering) and I'm closer to being able to tie a bow on this one and send it on its way. Thought that might cheer you up a bit. :)
Hmmm... I need an h/c icon for all these surgeries of yours. ;)

Date: 2007-08-27 10:09 pm (UTC)My brother's cat is thoroughly undoing all the scent Pye leaves on my laptop screen, so Mr. Wacket will have to re-do all his work once I've returned. ^_^
I last did all my icons when I was feeling very doom-and-gloomful, and only appear to have one "yay," which I'm using a lot right now. I need some happy Sokka, or something.
