Wunderbar!
Apr. 15th, 2003 08:43 amGuess who's starting to get really jazzed for X2, and frustrated that all she's seeing in magazines is Matrix coverage. Want..more..fuzzy elf..stuff. Kurt is my current work computer wallpaper at the moment, replacing THE PICTURE from the ROTK calendar. If that doesn't tell you something...
BTW, many thanks to Aelf to pointing me at The Nightcrawler Song!
And for those who haven't heard, we get 43 extra minutes on the TTT extended DVD. Just pause and ponder that for a moment. 43. Damn, I'm really hoping that's the 43 good minutes of footage from what was mostly a big smelly mess of a film. If all the character development ended up on the cutting room floor I'm going to be so pissed it defies description.
I went to class last night with a nasty headache and a stomach that refused to settle down. I knew that once we got dancing I'd be fine, but queasy is never a good state to start class in. About halfway through the first one I forgot that I wasn't feeling good and all was well. Still, we worked hard and I regretted not bringing another bottle of water along. We worked up a serious sweat, even Alyne and she's in way better shape than the rest of us put together.
By class two I wasn't even tired from lack of sleep the night before and we drilled on a choreography we'd been practicing for a while. I still don't know in what order the steps come, but I seem to be getting them all mostly right at last. Then we did some single veil work that started with a series of 8 count turns. By the end of this series (and amazingly I stayed in place all the way through them) she wanted to teach us a new move. It always takes me a while to get my body to work correctly with something new and last night was no exception. Suddenly I'm wobbling all over the place and getting my veil tangled around my arm. Finally I got it and managed to move in a straight line, but not until after almost crashing into Aelf.
Then we conned Alyne into listening to the music we want to do for our choreography. I saw her head start to bob from the beginning, and about 3/4 of the way through she grabbed her veils and I knew we had a winner. Then we started exchanging ideas at a furious pace, and Aelf came up with our ending which made us all giggle. I can't remember the last time I had that much fun in any class ever and none of us seemed to really want to leave so we stood around chatting for a while afterwards.
Aelf and I decided we must get mirrors for our front living room/dance studio, we may spend some time this weekend cruising around Goodwills to track some full-length ones down for mounting.
"Addicted"? Mmm, perhaps, but I prefer "committed" or "driven" myself. History will be my final judge.
