Spoiler rant

Ok, ok, so I couldn't quite resist the DH spoilers that have been posted literally everywhere. I read them. Then I hoped like hell it was all a hoax. Then moonlightnrain tells me that Scholastic's just gotten a subpoena to yank the pages from PhotoBucket so it would seem it's no hoax.

Bugger.

1. Not even I thought JK would be cruel enough to kill off not one, but both of my favorite characters. I think this is a new record for even my prodigious black widow tendencies. *shakes fists impotently at the heavens*

2. Nagini? Seriously? *sigh*

3. Ravenclaw's horcrux is a tiara...not a book, not a wand, a tiara. Fine. Whatever.

4. No Neville/Luna? WTF?

5. Two words: Scorpius Malfoy. *buries face in hands*

Ok so I'm happy that Severus is like the big hero of the series even if I don't particularly enjoy why he did what he did. And I would just like to say to all those who doubted him " :P~~~ " I will also add, "I told you so!" because I'm determined to get some pleasure out of this book.

Currently I'm torn between deepest mourning as my hopes died a rather grisly death after these spoilers and a brain feverishly trying to figure out a way to continue fic-ing either by ignoring this novel or just writing everything set before this one. Some part of me worries that by the time I've finished the novel I'm going to just want to distance myself from the whole genre for a long while.

On the plus side it sounds like a whole lot of others are going to be in the same boat so maybe we can all mourn together.

However:

* Scholastic has said they're going after everything billing itself as a spoiler with no bearing on whether or not they're real or fake. So the fact that they're doing so != true spoiler

* HOWEVER, they did just issue a press release today confirming that the book was leaked by DeepDiscounts.com, who shipped a certain number of copies of DH to customers who began receiving them yesterday. Yes, legal action is ensuing.

*hugs* We'll mourn together, then we'll use one of the at least five different ways to bring Snape back. (Personally, I'm choosing to believe Remus was a polyjuiced imposter, and the real Remus is tied up in Spinner's End. )
