I am trying to find any enthusiasm about going to dance class tonight and coming up completely short. Yes T- should be there and it's always nice to see her but honestly I'd rather work on the garden, get the entertainment center set up properly, finish cleaning my bathroom, make a pet store and grocery run, and do my dishes from last night.

And if that isn't a pathetic summary of my current life I don't know what is.

I know I paid for the class and it's exercise which I truly need, but it's just not...fun. And really it tends to make me more depressed about not studying with Alyne any more. Maybe it's just a sign that I really am just done with dancing. Hardly the end of the world but it does make me a little sad. Or maybe it just means I need to take classes with people who will peer pressure me into going with them...

The peer pressure is a good thing. I've only been skating without [livejournal.com profile] tersa um... twice.

But really, if seeing T- isn't motivating you, I don't know what would. ;)

So is it this class that's not fun, or just dancing? Or what's missing from this class that you had before, aside from peer pressure to go?

I dunno', maybe it's that it's such a beginner's level that it doesn't seem like dancing rather exercise. I've never been a big fan of exercise but I really love dancing if that makes sense.

Yes, this makes perfect sense. You need a challenge. You never liked performing, but the challenge of being ready to perform I suspect appealed to you.

So, how do you feel about Qigong in relation to this?

Qigong is at least *different*, it's not something I feel like I kind of mastered (ok, semi-mastered in an amateur-type way) several years ago. And it doesn't make me want to go study with Alyne instead, this class does. I feel a bit guilty, and truth be told, lazy for doing this but if I'm not enjoying it what's the point?

Nah, nothing to feel guilty about. It was like dating someone you met online. You didn't know until you went that it didn't work for you. No harm, no foul. Keep looking, though. You clearly want to do *something* so it's not laziness. :)
