So I've been haunting Fandango.com and MovieTickets.com to try to get tickets for HP:OotP and today I get all excited 'cause at last AMC Mercado has a show time that appears to allow for ticket purchasing (7:00 pm on Friday the 13th). However while the little words say "Buy tickets" the 7:00 time isn't highlighted in blue so you can't buy anything yet. However, it would appear that every other single movie theater in the Bay Area has tickets available for purchase for multiple showings except this one.

As I see it there are 3 choices:

1. Contact Mercado and say "WTF?" if I can get an actual person on the line.

2. Pick another theater close by that everyone can agree on and buy the damn tickets already.

3. Keep watching AMC and snag tickets as soon as they do become available.

Thoughts? Opinions? Here are the current theaters all of which, except for Mercado and Shoreline (which isn't even listing times yet), are available for purchase right now:

I will follow wherever you lead. I suspect there will be more like-minded individuals at Mercado, but that's only based on last year's turnout. Still, I think you might be happier just to have tickets in hand....

I will follow your lead too, though I do express an evening preference, and later is always better. I think I've got a day-long work event in Berkeley on July 13th that ends at 4pm.

So... the funniest thing is that I have a close friends rehearsal dinner (fri nite) and wedding (sat nite) that weekend. I've known for some time. So I'm probably gonna go sunday nite if I can. Also I hate the crazy ass parking situation at Mercado, so I'm gonna see it at great mall (that's closer to me anyway). I don't think they'll be an issue getting tickets that sun afternoon/nite. I'm gonna check the times in the next few weeks. If you're interested or even want to see it a second time in the week(s) that follow - drop a line:)

Will do. I think a lot is going to depend upon what they chop out of this flick. If it's a lot of ANGRYHARRRY!!! angst that ends up on the cutting room floor rather than, oh, say vitally important elements of the plot/characterizations, then I suspect I'll want to see it numerous times.

I'm actually encouraged by the trailer and the wide variety of promo shots that have been released. I should know better than to get my hopes up... we shall see.
