Two things:

1. Pye is driving me quite, quite mad. If anyone tries to tell me that sleep deprivation is not a form of cruel and unusual punishment I will punch them right in the gonads.

2. I appear to be allergic to oxygen today. Yay.

If you ever want to trade apartments for a night, I'm quite certain my girls will leave you alone. :) Alternately, there's a great little hotel with rooms for $89/night....

Alternately, I could just take the boy off your hands for a night.... I've been through the sleep dep thing recently, remember that hell, and remember how supportive you were through it, so... feel free to cash in on that karma. :) I mean it.

Thank you, but he's my responsibility and I'll deal with him. I think the stray cat that's been coming onto my patio is what's really been stressing him out lately.

I didn't mean to imply otherwise. You helped me, I thought I could return the favor and clean up some karmic debt. No offense intended.

No offense taken, as I've said many times before I wouldn't inflict him on anyone I liked :)

And yet, I'm volunteering, which really can't be considered inflicting....

It can and does to me.

*hands up, backing away* Okay, okay, just trying to do for you what I know you would offer to do for me.

*blinks* Uh, ok if you want to think I'm upset or angry with you I guess that's your right but I assure you I'm not.

Your tone reads a bit harsh, but I'd really rather hope you aren't mad, thus the backing off before I stumbled in that direction.

Let me ask you this, though: what assistance would you offer me if I were in the same predicament?

Precisely what you've offered me, and if refused then I'd have to shrug and accept it. I said thanks but no thanks and I appreciate the offer. It wouldn't feel right to me to accept even though you don't consider taking Pye as an imposition.

Okay, perfect. If you change your mind, let me know. Do you wear ear plugs?

Date: 2007-06-06 09:58 pm (UTC)
From: [identity profile] ebonlock.livejournal.com
I own earplugs but rarely wear them as they're uncomfortable. I'll probably try running my fan again tonight to block out the noise. Although last night it was half Pye freaking out and half my crazy upstairs neighbors having very loud sex. Given that everything they do is loud this doesn't surprise me.

I blame the meth.

When in doubt, blame the meth. :)

If I were you, I'd seriously be considering a night at the hotel. :)

For the sake of my gonads I will say no such thing.

I hope your allergies feel better soon and you get a good night's sleep tonight.

Short of investing in a kitty ballgag I doubt I'll get much sleep and I'm hoping right now that this is just allergies and not the start of that nasty cold that's been going around.

What precisely has my little furry nerd-nephew been up to that has been keeping you up all night?

Tell him to behave or I'm bringing Nora over to meet her cousin. :)

He's been screaming and trying to get outside at every window. It's like he's back to the way he was when I first got him, desperate to escape and be free again. I'm beginning to feel a bit cruel for keeping him from what he really wants...whether it's good for him or not.

I don't know if I'd consider it cruel. Cats, much like children, really don't know what's good for them. Is it cruel to keep a child from playing with a knife or jumping off a roof even if they throw a temper tantrum and cry when they don't get their way? The only difference is that at some point you can reason with the child and make them see that what they want to do isn't always what is best for them. With a cat not so much. So I wouldn't consider you cruel. I think you're being a good parent.

Also, Pye is Siamese so it's not surprising he's a loudmouth. I don't know what you can do to curb that. Maybe you should look into a kitty enclosure on the porch or something so he can feel like he's outside, but is protected from doing something that will harm his furry little self.

Maybe I am still reeling from finding Mr. Frodo on the road, but my opinion is that houses are the safest place for the little punkins.
