All new gloating, now with gloaty berries!
Nov. 8th, 2006 12:38 pmDid you ever have a morning where all you want to do was go around shouting, "Woo!" at everyone you meet? Today is that kind of day. Wow is it ever nice to be able to have some faith in the intelligence and wisdom of my fellow American again. Five long years of waiting for some element of sanity to return has paid off big time. If you haven't already, please go check out some truly beautiful results.
Man oh man it feels good to be alive. Though I have to admit I'm almost tempted to check out some wingnut bloggers' reactions today. Yeah, I know, we're supposed to be above all that smug gloating and all around bad winner type reaction, but I just can't seem to help it. I think five years of having our noses rubbed in the dirt requires at least a little payback. And payback, you know, is one nasty bitch.
Or, as Bullworth so beautifully puts it:
House
Richard Pombo (CA): Buh-bye

Dick DeVos (MI-Amway): Buh-bye
Lynn Swann (PA): Buh-bye
Ken Blackwell (OH): Buh-bye
Jim Nussle (IA): Buh-bye
But not to be outdone, the RudePundit sez:
Anyone in this Bed Got a Cigarette?:
Let's not worry about cleaning the sheets and ourselves just yet. Let's just lay here, sticky, sweaty, exhausted, blissful, and enjoy the way the sun seems a little brighter this morning...
C'mon folks, join me in a little long awaited gloating, you know you want to ;)

Date: 2006-11-08 07:05 pm (UTC)I keep picturing Jon Stewart re-enacting the "Old Time Rock and Roll" sequence from "Risky Business" in my mind's eyes. Dancing around his house in his underwear, which is what I'd be doing if I didn't have to work today :)

Date: 2006-11-08 07:36 pm (UTC)Hey cut that pessimism stuff, nobody is harshing my buzz today. Just sit back and enjoy the afterglow, we can fret about the actual business of running the government tomorrow. For now just bask in the warm thought of a woman from San Francisco as Speaker of the House...
