Ooh it's all foggy this morning, the perfect kind of thing for Halloween just a few days early. But the big news is I can finally say that the "bloody story" that I've been working on for literally ages is done, finished, ended. Hallelujah! Clocked in at literally just shy of 70,000 words. Fortunately [livejournal.com profile] moonlightnrain has been editing for me and already got her notes back to me so I can clean the whole thing up, get it sectioned off, and start posting it to the Snupin list. Once that's done it gets tucked away on the list archive and then I'm taking a nice long break from writing for a while. I've earned it.

Can't say I was terribly pleased by my wrap-up and I'm not sure I did the sex scene justice, but at this point I figure it's an accomplishment just to finish. Not unlike a marathon I suspect. It certainly felt like a marathon, and I think I've discovered I'm more of a sprinter really.

Now if I can just get a handle on stuff at work I'm going to be in really good shape.

It felt like it kind of just fizzled to a stop to me, but I only decided on the epilogue's finish yesterday. I just kept debating with myself whether they woke up together or not and I'm not entirely convinced that it should've gone the way I finaly had it go, you know?

Okay, I do understand that, but I thought that having them wake up together would have left little happiness left for them to pursue in the sequel (which I realize must be a dirty, dirty word to you this morning). There was a moment of "aww, damn" when I read it, but I thought it rang true given everything else. To have them all snuggly and blissful would have been too much too soon.

Oh no, not snuggly and blissful, it's just that the message could've been delivered in person. But then I realized if I let them start talking again I'd never get the damn thing done and I'd shoot right on by my 70,000 word self-imposed limit.

Yeah, Remus would have protested and wheedled until you sat at 75,000 words. :)

Can I read the entire thing through when you're done with edits, but prior too posting?

Prior TO posting. So annoyed with this keyboard....

If you like, yeah. I'll try to get the edits done tonight if possible then send you the whole kit and kaboodle.

That would make my day.

Off to meet Kel for coffee, but I'm hoping to have a doc or two for you to read later.

Congratulations! I know you've been hoping to finish the thing off, so I'm glad the day was useful to you (mine was merely annoying, until much later evening...perhaps the brownies helped with that), but am sorry I had passed out so thoroughly by the time you left for work (I was awake probably not long before you left because of unsettling dreams and too much in-my-head time, but was earplugged, so heard not a thing).

I peered closer at the shirt label, and it looks like it was even made in the UK, so definitely not something you'd have. Hope it's long enough for you!

I wish we'd had this weather over the weekend. I was at a LARP in the Santa Cruz mountains where we were all supposed to be in a Halloweeny nightmare realm. Fog would have been perfect. Crisp blue skies and brilliant starry nights didn't quite fit the atmosphere.

Ooh yeah that would've been perfect, too bad it came a few days late :(
