So my trip to the oral surgeon went pretty well I think. Once I actually got in to see him the procedure was over pretty quickly. He gave me a bit of a horror story about how my tooth had a very long root and all the truly horrid things that could mean if things went badly. It did make me very determined to follow all of the post-op instructions to the letter.

On the way out another older lady who'd also had an extraction was leaving behind me and we both had guaze stuck in our mouth. She said something I interpreted as "Good luck", and I attempted to mumble back "You too", we both realized we were pretty much impossible to understand and laughed. Luckily I had moonlightnrain with me to interpret when we got to the drug store so I could pick up my prescriptions.

Right now I'm waiting for the novocaine to wear off at which point I expect to be in a fair bit of pain. I'm going with a half a pain pill at the moment as my body tends to react...badly to pain medication. Even on half I'm feeling like a nap would be very welcome. Alas I'm not supposed to lay down until the bleeding's mostly stopped, so it'll have to wait :(

I'm still in shockingly little pain, which leads me back to the mutant theory. But you know if little to no oral pain is my mutant ability, I think I'll take it and be happy about it :)

My dad suffers so AND has lots of dental work, I never seem to be bothered much.
