Frasier "I was up to all hours of the night competing with Daphne to see which
of us had the more pathetic love life. On the bright side, I won."

talking to Mom. She said to me, 'Frasier, you've gotta promise me you're not
going to give up.' I said 'Mom, please, the last thing I want to hear is a
bunch of clichés and that we're all put on the earth to love each other, and
how it's certainly possible for the human heart to love more than one person.'
I said, 'All right, Mom, give me one good reason to ever let myself fall in
love again'. She said, 'Because I said so and I'm your mother!'"

cyranocyrano unless I miss my guess. He got me living flowers that I can plant out in my garden. I'm going to be grinning in a rather silly fashion all day.
And...I...I..uh...speech..failing...
MY GOD THE BOY'S ONLY 14?!
If there's a level of hell reserved for dirty old ladies then I'm certainly going there, but what a great V-day gift!
Alyne's class last night was one of the best I've ever had with her, and that's saying something. There were actually three young children in it as well, and they seemed to be having the time of their lives. How I wish my neice lived out here, I'd have her in the class in a hot second!
We did an hour and a half of intensive upper and lower body workouts, lots of footwork to some really amazing music too. I was dripping with sweat by the time we left and pleasantly sore in my legs. I'm getting stronger, I can feel it now, and I have better muscular control than I have in years.aelfsciene, eilonwey, and I came to the simultaneous conclusion that we need to start taking her intermediate class too. I like Shira's choreographies a lot, but Alyne's are what I consider real artistry. It's the kind of dancing I ultimately want to do, and she's who I want to look like doing it. Yay more dance class!
We then came home and met up withsilkblade for an equal amount of time working on our veil routine. The nice thing is that even when we screwed up we just laughed and handled it. I no longer feel pressured about the performance on the 22nd. We're all in a good headspace for it and not taking ourselves too seriously. eilonwey is already talking about our next choreography. Damn...I guess we're a real troupe }:)
Oh and I got a CD I'd been waiting to get my hands on for some time now, the Brothers of the Beladi's "Hope" with their kickass version of "Ah Nada, Nada"

We've been dancing to it in Shira's advanced class quite a bit and it's a slower version of our Debkeh song, sexier too. I love it! There's also quite possibly the best drum solo number I've ever heard in my life. It's begging for a tribal choreography to go with it. Hear that,caredhel? Oh and you need a copy of this CD, no question about it.
On a slightly poltical note, it looks like I'm going to need to start tuning into Hardball. Usually I can't stand Chris Matthews, but as the only cable host (and usually the biggest Republican flag-waver of them all) to actually be openly opposing the war with Iraq. And the man even approves of Hillary Clinton? Yeah, I think I need to start watching this.
In fact I think I need to start watching, listening to, reading up more on the political state of the world today. That's my goal for the next few weeks, education. So if folks have interesting, thought-provoking links to articles or interviews on either side of the debate, please feel free to share them!

Please don't. There are far better news and analysis magazines out there.
Read The Economist, and Foreign Affairs first. US News & World Reports is more balanced and way less fluffy.
