Still more birthday natterings

Sorry, but this does seem to be more of a "birthweek" celebration this year, I tend to get handed things, respond in a puzzled fashion for a few seconds, then say, "Oh yes, right, thanks!" I must thank
odogoddess and
chazpure for the wonderful Jamba Juice card! I am currently putting it to very good use with my new favorite Grape Escape one. Yum!
Many thanks as well to
jakejr for my copy of "V for Vendetta", which I'll be receiving soon. I'm totally serious about us sitting down to watch it together, hon, and my inner anarchist is doing a happy dance in celebration already.
And of course,
aelfsciene who got me a beautiful, hand signed print by an artist whose works I was unfamiliar with before, but am definitely intrigued with now. The piece is called "The High Priestess", which just happens to be my significator card in the Tarot deck. It's gorgeous. She also found this graphic novel version of Oscar Wilde's "Salome", a particular favorite of mine. The artwork is just stunning and I can't wait to get a chance to read it cover to cover.
Actually had the time last night to CLEAN MY DAMN APARTMENT, for the first time in forever. It felt disturbingly satisfying. Also dismantled my Frankensteinian A/V hook up so that it's all down to one dvd recorder and the cable box. Tossed my VCR into a box with some other random stuff and slid Dumbledore (
ravenmb's TiVo that I'm babysitting for a few months) into its place. Hopefully with her help I'll get it up and running on Sunday and be back in business.
Sadly, because of my new set up, I wasn't able to record "Hex" last night, which might have been worth having for the lesbian sex scene at the beginning...but that was about it. When the best thing you can say about a show is that the only semi-interesting character in it is dead, you probably shouldn't be watching it. I just don't like the characters, don't really give a damn about the story, and couldn't care less about the whole mystery behind all the goings on. And if anybody watched it and can explain to me the physics that govern ghosts in that world, can you please comment me here? As far as I could tell they were just all over the place without any rhyme or reason.
