Ok so you know those Intel Centrino commercials where people have famous stars sitting on their lap performing for them to show us that we can have all this wonderful content right on our laptops. Well their latest one makes me squee aloud every single time I see it. Why? Because it starts out identically to some of my favorite fantasies, in other words with Elijah Wood looking all cute and scruffy and sitting on a woman's lap. Yeah, definitely how mine would start, although of course I would be the woman in question. Then he chirps, "Hey, want to have fun?" Yep, check. Then he asks if she likes movies, and I very much approve of her answer, "I really like your movies." Good, good... Sadly, then it appears they actually do watch a movie and Elijah vanishes. It started out with such promise *sigh*

Amazing how TV commercials do not actually fulfill our (hard|soft) core porn fantasies.

Bahahaha. :)

THAT was the ad I was trying to remember on Monday. I just remembered I'd actually watched a TV ad over the weekend that I thought was cute and wanted to remember.

And now that you've reminded me, I'll also note that I'd really wanted to tell you about its existence if you hadn't seen it yet. Because *I* thought it was adorable, and immediately thought of you. :)

I've been watching entirely too much tv while feeling ill as it was the only thing I had enough energy to do. The first time I saw the ad last week my heart nearly stopped :)

Hmm. I'm going to have to see this commercial. We should pool our money to get him to do your version. You'd have to tell me at which point I should quit watching, tho. :)

I suspect it would be right after he says "Hey, want to have some fun?", the camera would close in on my face, my right eyebrow would quirk up and my lips stretch into a slow smile.

Yeah, I guess that would be right about the time I'd want to walk away. :)

Any updates on the medical stuffs? See GI doc yet? I guess I'm getting my gallbladder shaved off, afterall. Tests are inconclusive. :(

No updates, unfortunately I can't get in to see the GI until next month. You know how it is. Sorry to hear about your gallbladder, though, what happened?

Yeah, GI docs are always backlogged. Lots of people with broken insides. =)

Nothing in particular happened, but after my last hospital stay (nearly a week) at the beginning of the year for some reason convinced my doctor that the pain I have is very real.

I've had a lot of tests done recently as a result. Some say I now have gallstones...others don't...it's inconclusive.

I think my doc is determined to get me off the pain killers (that would be nice, but why wait 3-4 years to get involved?!?). You know how she is about that stuff. She believes my gallbladder is the source of my pain.

I have a surgical consult on the 29th to see how risky this is going to be. My doc has already said that it could make things even worse for me, but the likelyhood is pretty low.

Fun! =)

I hope everything goes well for you. Has your normal doc done any bloodwork, yet? They should have at least done that before they send you to GI.

Oh yeah I got the bloodwork again, I actually know which ones are the best phlebotomists at PAMF at this point. A few more months of this and I'll probably remember their names :) But you know gallstones was a possible theory for me too and they're doing liver tests and such just to be on the super safe side. But really an ulcer is the most likely by far.
If it is gallstones for you do they really have to do surgery to remove them? I mean aren't there non-invasive ways of dealing with it?

They really can't tell me if I have gallstones or not. Test results are conflicting. My doctor is convinced that my gallbladder is what causes my pain, so they're removing it. No noninvasive procedures for that. One method is less messier (a small incision to stick tools in), but I won't know what method they're going to try until my appointment on Wed.

I hope she's right...cuz she's already warned me that this could make things even worse considering how crappy I do when they touch my liver.

I have to say that sounds like kind of a half-assed approach on your doctors part, I don't know that I'd be game for invasive surgery on the theory that the organ they'd remove *might* be responsible for the pain I'd been in.

If it gets me off the pain killers and keeps me out of the hospital, then why not? Ambulance rides are not cheap. :)

Believe me, I'm going to have a thorough discussion with the surgeon because I also have the same concern. I'm not going to willingly volunteer for unnecessary surgery that could also make me very sick.

Communication has gotten much better with my doc, especially now that I can just send her an email with any questions I have for her. I've also been much more assertive and she seems to respond to that.

We'll see what happens on Wed! :)

Fingers firmly crossed for you, man, and I'm glad to hear that you and your doc are communicating better! Let me know how your appointment goes, ok?

Darn. We can always see our own version in our head, though. In mine, it's Elijah and Sean... and they're both wearing loin cloths.
