Ok I'm going to make this a public announcement in the hopes that by doing so I can use the positive power of peer pressure to actually follow through with it. I'm going to go to bed at a reasonable time tonight. I am not staying up 'til almost midnight and assuring myself that 6 hours of sleep is all I need. I am going to bed, getting no less than 8 hours of sleep, and I am going to do it tonight!

Sleep dep is making me a bit loopy I think.

Speaking of loopy, I nearly lost my dinner at dance class last night after a marathon session of spinning. Now I made it through Una's class with a moderate amount of spinning and no problem. But last night. Well let's just say that taking a week off set me back more than I thought it would. Ah well, at least once I figured out what I was doing wrong it wasn't horribly difficult to correct the mistakes in both routines. Still it was more than a little disheartening.

On the up side I got back to Walmart and picked up some more of the plushy yarn I wanted for an afghan I'm working on and found the same stuff in a nice deep blue and a blood red. Bought the blue, will eventually buy the red. Hmm, I wonder if you can order stuff like that cheaply online. Any excuse not to go to Walmart is a good one.

Also, at work yesterday I pushed for and received permission to rule a certain aspect of our site with an iron fist. Playing dictator can be a great deal of fun. Bow before Zod. Hee.

What else? Um, stayed up way too late chatting with the housemate and enjoying our monkey-deprived cat for a bit before collapsing into bed. Missed Buffy, again, anybody still have it on TiVo or tape? Maybe I'll just plan to catch it in re-runs later this season as I apparently cannot wrap my brain around programming the VCR at 7 in the morning.

Tonight I'm just going to kick back and relax, maybe do some laundry and watch some Red Dwarf, then I'm going to bed. Yes indeed. Tomorrow and Friday I reserve for party-related madness, then the party Saturday, dance class on Sunday. Oh, also on Sunday, Aelf and I are planning to see "The Ring" at the Mercado around 1:30. Anybody who'd like to attend with us just lemme know. I may bring along a blankie or a stuffed animal to clutch tightly as I've heard this flick is very scary. This is one of the times I miss having an S.O., clutching someone is almost always nicer than something, you know?

Guess that's it, gonna' go prop my eyelids open with toothpicks now.

AUGh i KNOW this one. I wanna say TRON, but damned if I can remember. Alternately, I want to say War Games, but again, damned if I can remember =)

And UGH I felt icky for a good hour or so after class and the spinning. I haven't felt that bad since the FIRST time we did doubleveil.

A big gold star for your first guess, and today's quote is in honor of [livejournal.com profile] jakejr who now owns this particular flick *G*

Yeah, I was kind of regretting having eaten dinner before going to class, I think I might've done better on an empty stomach. Part of the problem is that we're basically focusing our practice time on the spin-intensive portion of the routine. And after a week off that was just a very bad idea.

Actually, I don't own TRON. I know I thought before that the film I couldn't remember was one I had, but I was wrong. :-)

Hsm. Wouldn't have gotten the quote, but I might be interested in going to see The Ring since it sounds like a matinee.

Definitely a matinee, as long as you don't mind going with a big sissy who's undoubtedly going to be flinching and hiding her eyes at parts *G*

me too!

I keep telling myself, "Ok, I'm going to bed early tonight." And then suddenly it's midnight and I'm still awake doing stuff. Hopefully tonight!

I'm bringing my bigass Cheshire Cat to the movie, I think--big enough to hide behind, and very squeezable. And personally, I prefer an inanimate object, because I'm all too jumpy at the best of times. When I saw Event Horizon with Fire (I thought it was just a sci fi flick!), I nearly tore his arm out of its socket. Stuffed animals are much harder to do this to, though my cousin once ripped my teddy bear's head off, watching Aliens.

Maybe I'll bring my plushy Eeyore, he seems an appropriate choice.

By the time we got to the end of The Sixth Sense, I was almost completely in OJ's seat with him, and he had three sets of claw marks in his arm. Ooooooops.

Don't think I've destroyed any stuffed animals yet though.

Scary F-ing movie!

Just so you know, Jim saw The Ring this past weekend and it scared the fuck out of him! He said he wouldn't be right for a while.

I'd love to have you clutch me, but (much like the back rub) I don't think I'll be able to work it into our schedules.
